    Abstract: A decanter type centrifugal separator capable of discharging sludge directly from a portion of the sludge with least moisture content in a bowl so as to lower a moisture content and increase a separation efficiency, wherein a screw conveyor rotated with a difference in speed provided relative to the bowl is stored in the bowl rotated at a high speed, a dewatering cake discharge route (20) is provided in one end wall (2) of the bowl, an opening (20a) of the route into the bowl is provided near the inner peripheral wall of the bowl, the discharge route provides a restriction effect to the discharge of the dewatering cake, and a sedimentary layer with thick sedimentation layer is formed near the opening, whereby that portion only of the cake is discharged through the discharge route under head press of the sedimentation layer, that portion receiving the highest consolidation effect by the head press of a centrifugal force acting on the sediment, among the sedimentation layers accumulated at one end of the bowl.

    Abstract: In an apparatus and method for producing sand from stone, the stone is first crushed in a centrifugal crusher and then filtered through a screen. The stone retained on the screen is further crushed by a vibration mill. The stone passing through the screen and the stone crushed by the vibration mill are combined and then are filtered through a separater to separate out the minute particules. Measurements of various flow rates and particle sizes are made in order to control the rotational speed of the vibration mill and the rate at which stone is supplied to the screen.

    Abstract: An improved screw decanter type centrifugal concentrating machine for the type including a bowl and a screw conveyor rotatably supported within the bowl in the coaxial relation is disclosed. The screw conveyor is rotated at a different rotational speed from that of the bowl and an arrangement is made such that liquid initially supplied prior to separating, concentrated liquid and residual liquid after completion of separation are continuously supplied and discharged through the hollow space in the hollow shafts of the bowl and the screw conveyor. To properly adjust discharge rate of concentrated liquid and residual liquid from the machine or concentration of solid material in both liquids, throttle valves are disposed at the position located midway of discharge passages extending from the hollow shafts. The throttle valves are preferably designed in the form of an automatically controlled valve. Suspension to be treated is introduced into the bowl by way of guide vanes on the side wall of the bowl.
