Abstract: This invention provides a tape extracting unit having an excellent performance and a compact small structure, the tape extracting unit comprising: two pairs of first and second extracting roller units whose rotation velocities are capable of being adjusted separately; guide frame which is disposed between the first and second extracting roller units and forms an expanding space for storing a tape; and a sensor for detecting the storage condition of the tape within the guide frame electrically, wherein the tape pulled out of the roll body is stored within the expanding space of the guide frame as a storage tape to which no tension is applied; and the rotations of the first and second extracting roller units are controlled based on a detection signal of the sensor so as to be able to extract the storage tape.

  • Publication number: 20060266179
Abstract: A rotary cutter is configured such that a stationary cutter includes: an oscillating member oscillatably pivoted on a strut; a stationary blade projecting on one side of the oscillating member; oscillation restricting means for restricting oscillation of the oscillating member in one direction; a resilient member for applying an urging force to the oscillating member at all times in a direction in which the oscillation is restricted; and oscillating means for forcibly applying an oscillating force to the oscillating member; wherein the oscillating member is supported at three points, that is, a contact point between the resilient member and the oscillating member, a contact point between the oscillation restricting means and the oscillating member, and a pivotal point of the strut of the oscillating member. Thus, it is possible to adjust a fixing angle of the stationary blade at a proper angle by a simple operation and reduce the cost of the rotary cutter.

  • Patent number: 4816105
Abstract: A strip of tape is cut into precise lengths of cut tape. The cut lengths of tape are transferred by a drum to a pair of drums rotating side by side. One of the rotating drums carries a die and the other a punch movable into and out of the die. The cut lengths of tape are held on the periphery of the die drum with two groups of vacuum pressure holes respectively provided inside and outside the perimeter of the die for selective release of a punched label and surrounding waste material.

  • Patent number: 4549454
Abstract: A strip of tape is cut at intervals into precise cut lengths equal in length to that of a desired label of non-rectangular shape. The cut lengths of tape are positioned in exact alignment with a punch of a punch cutting assembly for punching out the label and the punched label is separated from waste about the rim of the label for delivery free of the waste. The cut lengths are transferred to a transfer drum periphery and held momentarily under vacuum pressure which vacuum pressure is released to allow the cut lengths to shift circumferentially about the periphery of the transfer drum against a stop to accurately locate the cut lengths prior to further transfer to the punch cutting assembly.

  • Patent number: 4230516
Abstract: A labelling machine which includes a plurality of label suction drums rotatably mounted on a bed plate and a plurality of label holders for supplying labels one-by-one to a corresponding label suction drum. A label applicator drum is positioned adjacent to the label suction drums for receiving labels carried by the label suction drums, and thereafter applying the labels to an object which may have either an arcuate or a planar surface. Each label suction drum is provided with a plurality of arcuately spaced projections and vacuum suction outlets between the projections. The labels are retained on a peripheral surface of each label suction drum between the projections by a vacuum applied through the vacuum suction outlets. An upper stop element is positioned adjacent the periphery of each label suction drum and the label applicator drum.
