    Abstract: A hinge mounts an arm on a chair. A sleeve is secured to one side of the chair back. A shaft is rotatably received in the sleeve. The shaft can be retained within the sleeve by a retainer that is formed separate from or as a part of the shaft. The shaft is fastened to the arm of the chair. The shaft and sleeve have sector shaped extensions extending along the axis of rotation of the shaft that are engageable to position the arm in a generally horizontal position while allowing the arm to be rotated upwardly by a predetermined amount.
