Abstract: Adapters are provided for stable holding of non-cylindrical multi-sided food containers in beverage container receptacles, and also packaged food products integrating such adapters, and container support systems including beverage receptacles and the packaged food products held in the beverage receptacles via the adapters.
Abstract: Method and system for controlling the density to a predetermined level of an edible aerated foodstuff product during the preparation thereof. A density measurement is acquired on the aerated product at a location sufficiently downstream of a shearing unit used to form the aerated material such that the product is in an equilibrated state. Consequently an adjustment can be made in the introduction rate of aeration gas at a location upstream of the shearing unit which is calculated to reduce any difference between the predetermined and measured product densities in a precise and reliable manner. Also, injection gas of reduced solubility may be used so that product density can reach equilibrium sooner. Upstream disturbances in the density of a formulation starter material also may be monitored and countered by adjustments made in the gas flow rate to assist in maintaining a desired product density.

Abstract: A carton having a door and a method of making a carton having a door, the carton being adapted for automated assembly and/or loading by reducing or eliminating interference between side panels of a door and product during loading and use of the door. In an aspect of the invention, the door side panels are slidable within a protected region formed between adjacent panels of the carton.
Abstract: The present invention generally relates to an inventive automated system, and method for its use, including a computer having a computer program defining three development phases including project proposal development, business proposition development, and implementation for market introduction. The project proposal development phase includes a unique idea verification feature by automated reference to an internal knowledge repository and database. The computer is coupled for intercommunication to a plurality of stations or clients from which respective authorized users each have a browser-based interface with the computer.

Abstract: Soy derived materials such as soy milk, soy flour, soy concentrates, and soy protein isolates, are deflavored by adjusting the pH of an aqueous composition of such soy derived materials to about 9 to about 12 to solubilize the soy proteins and to release the flavoring compounds and thereafter passing the pH-adjusted composition to an ultrafiltration membrane having a molecular weight cutoff up to about 50,000 Daltons under conditions at which the flavoring compounds pass through the membrane, leaving the retained soy material with improved flavor.
Abstract: A food package is provided that includes a compartment in which food items are carried and a holder portion which allows a user to place the food item therein with the food item held in a stationary position. The food holder can serve as a staging area for combining the food item with other food items or can be used as a placement location for a partially eaten food item. In the preferred multicompartment package, an improved back card construction is also disclosed.
Abstract: A flexible package is provided with a shrouded slide fastener closure. Fastener tracks are deformed at each end to provide an end stop to limit slider movement. A stop of reduced area with increased pull off force performance is provided. Features of the end stop include an L-shaped shoulder located above an underlying finger portion comprising an undeformed portion of the fastener tracks. The remainder of the end stop is formed by heating, softening and displacing portions of the fastener track material.
