Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing a game are provided. According to embodiments of the present, the method for providing a game comprises determining a map for game play, variably determining a first area in the map, and providing a second play environment different from a first play environment of the first area to outside the first area, wherein an item or vehicle is not spawned or a spawn rate of the item or vehicle is lower than the first play environment in the second play environment. According to the method, an In-Game play environment is variably provided each time a game is played, thereby the unexpectedness of the game play can be enhanced and the utilization and lifespan of the game map can be remarkably improved.
