    Abstract: An overhead crane with redundant safety features is shown which utilizes two independently reeved hoisting systems and a dual element hook, whereby if one of the elements of the hook or one of the hoisting systems were to encounter a failure, the load being supported by the crane would remain safely supported above the ground.
