  • Patent number: 7625018
Abstract: An end clamp housing for attachment to a cylindrical body, the side end housing being a unitary metal casting comprising; an open annular base element provided with a first, ingoing flange at a first side of the base element and a second ingoing flange at a second side of the base element. The second ingoing flange having a cross-section forming a loop extending outwardly beyond the base element; and a pair of clamp members projecting outwardly from the base element. The clamp members being positioned face to face and having an aperture to allow the insertion of a tightening element which can be operated to reduce the distance between the two ends of the open annular base element and thereby press an annular seal element against the outside of a pipe inserted through the seal clamp housing, which after release of the tightening element returns to its original dimensions.

  • Patent number: 7571940
Abstract: The invention provides an improved coupling having an innovative pipe grip preventing inadvertent separation of the two items being coupled. The improved releasable band-clamp coupling comprises a central housing of cross-section resembling a wide, low-wall channel, the housing being curved to be larger than the outer diameter of a pipe, two curved outer clamp members each configured to contact a wall of the housing and to support a ring seal member and to support a sloped mechanical grip ring, there being further provided proximate to the ends of the curved outer clamp members a pair of substantially parallel pair of clamping extensions, and a sloped internally-toothed grip ring comprising a plurality of spaced-apart wedge-shaped gripper units, each unit being connected to both adjacent gripper units by a flexible element to complete said grip ring; and screw clamping elements in contact with said clamping extensions to reduce the distance between said substantially parallel clamping extensions.

  • Patent number: 7243955
Abstract: A universal pipe connector for forming a connection with at least one pipe end includes a connector body having an opening for receiving the pipe end. A clamping ring, extending around, and mechanically engaging, the opening, features a tightening mechanism for tightening it between a first maximum diameter and a second minimum diameter which differ by at least a length d. An annular sealing element is deployed around an inner surface of the clamping ring for sealing around the pipe end. The sealing element is formed with a primary inner surface and at least one roughly cylindrical coaxial layer of thickness ½ d. The layer is connected to the primary inner surface by a readily severable connection such that, by selectively removing the layer and tightening the tightening mechanism, the pipe connector forms a sealing connection with pipes having diameters varying over a continuous range of at least 2 d.

  • Patent number: 7232160
Abstract: A sealing of pipe repair clamps is taught providing a flexible inner sheet or sleeve adapted for duty inside a pipe repair clamp to prevent leakage of the fluid to be transported in a pipeline. The inner sheet or sleeve may be used in combination with a band-type pipe clamp of various types. The clamp may also be useful for temporary or permanent repair of a leaking pipe and for connecting two pipe ends. The clamp may include, in a pipe clamp or coupling for pipes by means of a metal clamping band to surround the pipes, and a flexible inner sheet or sleeve disposed inside the clamping band, having reinforcing material bonded to or embedded in the inner sheet or sleeve to inhibit axial expansion when the inner sheet or sleeve is under compression between the pipes and the clamping band.
