Abstract: A method for removing adherent or immigrated olfactory substances from thermoplastic particles which take the form of bulk material and are exposed to dry, warm air in a treatment chamber of a warm-air container during a time period. Before the treatment in the warm-air container, the plastic particles are warmed in at least one infrared rotary tube, wherein the infrared rotary tube has at least one infrared radiator device arranged in a central region of the interior space thereof and directed towards the inner wall of the drum thereof. During a time period the plastic particles are warmed while the drum is continuously rotated and after that are transferred in the warm state, with a maximum temperature loss of 20 K, into the treatment chamber of the warm-air container where they continue to be exposed to warm air during the time period.

  • Publication number: 20210177014
Abstract: A method for the thermal treatment of bulk materials in a rotary tube with at least one infrared light unit. Bulk material is introduced into the rotary tube, which is provided on its inner wall with at least one mixing element and in the interior space of which the pressure of the ambient atmosphere prevails. A heat treatment of the bulk material is performed by at least one electrical infrared light unit, which is arranged at the center of the rotary tube and the light cone of which is directed onto the bed of bulk material that lies on the inner wall of the rotary tube. The bulk material is discharged from the rotary tube. Water vapor is directed onto the surface of the bulk material. The vapor is introduced into the interior space of the rotary tube through a nozzle tube.

  • Patent number: 10440978
Abstract: Method for decontaminating bulk food and/or feed material, in particular raw food and/or feed materials, comprising the following method steps: —inserting the bulk material into a rotary tube dryer, —increasing the temperature of the bulk material by means of at least one infrared radiator up to a defined treatment temperature range while at the same time rotating the bulk material, —maintaining the temperature of the bulk material in the treatment temperature range during a treatment phase by means of the infrared radiator while at the same time rotating the bulk material, —reducing the temperature of the bulk material to a discharge temperature while at the same time rotating the bulk material, —discharging the bulk material from the rotary tube dryer.

  • Publication number: 20140263021
Abstract: A plate filtering device (10) for plastic melts has at least two stationary housing components (7, 9) with a movable plate (4) with a filter insert (5) disposed between them. A locking bushing (6) that extends up to the movable plate is placed at the downstream housing component (9), and its inner recess forms a part of the flow channel. A seal bushing (3) that can be pressed against the movable plate (4) and/or the filter insert (5) is located in movable fashion in the front housing component (7). A funnel area (3.2) is formed on the side facing away from the filter insert (5). A sealing ring (2) is located between the sealing bushing (3) and a retaining ring (1). The sealing ring exhibits at least one angled conical surface (2.1) and one face area (2.2) that is oriented at a right angle to the direction of fluid flow. At the seal bushing (3), an effective pressure area (3.1, 3.1?, 3.1?) that extends into the flow channel (8) is formed within the inner width of the sealing ring (2).

  • Patent number: 8640881
Abstract: The invention relates to a screen changer in a system that processes flowable plastic. The screen changer includes an element, such as a portafilter, that is movable between two positions; two hydraulic pumps that effect position change of the screen changer; and a motor that operates both pumps. One pump provides greater flow volume and the other provides a lower flow volume, but with greater pressure. A non-return valve in the supply line to the hydraulic cylinder controls flow to the cylinder that moves the movable element between positions. The volume pump is used to move the movable element when resistance to movement of the screen is low and the high-pressure pump to move the element when resistance is high. The non-return valve selectively enables or interrupts flow from the pumps to the hydraulic cylinder. The screen changer allows use of a non-pressurized hydraulic fluid reservoir.

  • Patent number: 8622221
Abstract: A filtering device (100) for plastic melts exhibits at least one screen plunger (10) arranged movably between an inlet channel (5) and an outlet channel (6) of a housing (1) and containing replaceable, three-dimensional filter elements (25). The inside of the filter elements (25) is connected to at least one melt channel (11, 12) formed in the screen plunger (10). The melt channel is connected to the inlet or outlet channel (5, 6) of the housing (1) when in the production position. The screen plunger (10) exhibits at least one receiving chamber (14) that can be closed using a cover (16) on the face side. Several filter elements (25) are bundled with a central distribution element (20) to a filter cartridge (30) that can be placed in the receiving chamber (14).
