  • Patent number: 4822300
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for connecting cable wires to cutting/clamping contacts of dropwire connector banks of telecommunication sytems by means of a press-in tool provided with guide and press-in pieces and an actuating face. In order to allow a connection of a dropwire cable wire that thick insulation jacket in one single operation step to a cutting/clamping contact of the dropwire connector bank, the actuating face of the press-in tool is formed as an application body immediately adjacent to the guide and press-in pieces for a striking or lever tool, in particular a screwdriver. By exerting a striking or lever force on the press-in tool, a dropwire cable wire can, thus, be connected in one single operation step to a cutting/clamping contact of a dropwire connector bank. In a further embodiment of the invention, the press-in tool is formed as a part of the closing plug and serves for the fixation of the thin cable wires in dropwire connector banks.

  • Patent number: 4822306
Abstract: A connector bank for telecommunication devices is disclosed which includes a plastic housing with at least one series of connection contacts arranged in connection chambers to receive cable wires, in particular dropwire cable wires. A connector bank includes a series of contact elements for overvoltage suppressors formed in plug sockets. A second series of plug contact elements. The test plug sockets are arranged between two adjacent connection chambers for cable wires. • Patent number: 4806119
Abstract: A cutting/clamping terminal element for electrical conductors (14) is disclosed including a clamping slot (0) defined between a clamping piece (4) and an elastic clamping leg (2,3; 23, 13) to ensure an improved contact connection, such that even conductors (14) having very thin conductor core diameters, in particular wire strands, can be connected, without the conductor cross section being reduced and without there being a risk of conductor breakage. For this purpose, the clamping piece (4) is provided with clamping legs (2,3; 12,13) arranged on its front and rear sides, said clamping legs overlapping in the position of rest the clamping piece (4) at least in part, such that the sharp edges (15,24) of the two clamping legs (2,3; 12,13) and of the clamping piece (4) cut into the insulation (11) and clamp the core (10) of the conductor (14) in the clamping slot (9) at in total three different positions.

  • Patent number: 4790770
Abstract: A connector bank for cable wires (2,3,4) of telephone cables such that two cable wires (2,4 or 3,4, resp.) connected with each other over the connector bank can be separated from each other, with no need to loosen the respective contact connections. For this, the invention provides for each connecting element (7) a plug (6, 6a) with a contact lug (24, 24a) for insertion into the center contact (11) of the connecting element (7), the plug (6, 6a) being provided with a cable connecting element (20,31) for connection of a cable wire (4).

  • Patent number: 4770357
Abstract: An apparatus is described for the storage of the fibers of glass-fiber cables (23) in distribution devices in a telecommunication network, such as, for example, in casings (9) of end distributors or distribution frames (10). In order to be able to store, in a break-safe and manipulatable manner a splice reserve, wound up as, for example, in a splice cassette (58) with a movable feed cable (21), at least one cassette box (1), is provided and which is designed to receive a cassette (20). The box (1) is stored in a casing (9, 10) of the distribution device, and is provided with a removal opening (7). The box (1) can be moved from an essentially vertical storage position in the casing (9, 10) to an essentially horizontal removal position with the removal opening (7) located at the top.

  • Patent number: 4731147
Abstract: A machine for labeling containers around their complete circumference. The machine has a driven rotating turntable with rotating plates that are positioned around its circumference. The plates accommodate the containers and, as they travel past a labeling station, are rotated at different individual speeds by means of a drive mechanism. The drive mechanism includes roller cams and a recessed cam in order to adapt to the cross-sections of the different containers. In order to provide a machine for labeling containers around their complete circumference in which the specific speed of the rotating plates can be considerably more rapidly and easily adapted to the cross-section of the containers being labeled, one section of the recessed cam consists of cam elements that are positioned at intervals, that are designed to yield, and that are adjustably supported.

  • Patent number: 4519186
Abstract: A device for slipping segments of film, such as originally flattened but tubular segments of plastic film, on vessels such as bottles. A rotor rotates about a horizontal axis. Sucker devices mounted on swivel arms and expanding mandrels are arranged alternately about the circumference of the rotor. The flat sleeve segments are fed toward the rotor and are attracted by a sucker device. As the rotor rotates from the position in which a sleeve is gripped by a sucker device the sucker parts spread to open the tubular sleeve and the arm carrying the sucker is caused to swing and turn the sleeve segment 90.degree. whereupon the sleeve is passed over the presently unexpanded mandrel which is circumferentially adjacent the designated arm and its suckers. The mandrel is caused to expand for holding the sleeve and the sucker is timely released.

  • Patent number: 4448300
Abstract: For blocking containers that are moving on a conveyor between parallel guide rails, a rotatable star wheel is positioned adjacent the container path. A locking member selectively locks the star wheel in a neutral position wherein it lies completely outside of the container path and in a blocking position wherein it is rotated to block containers. When the star wheel becomes unlocked at neutral position, a rotary device causes the wheel to rotate sufficiently for one of its arms to project into the container path so the moving containers will force further rotation until the wheel becomes locked automatically in the blocking position.

  • Patent number: 4445961
Abstract: A bottle labeling machine has a turret rotating on a fixed axle. The turret has circumferentially spaced apart curved glue pallets mounted on individual pallet shafts supported in oscillatable drive members, respectively, which drive the shafts. The pallets orbit and oscillate to pick up glue from a roller, pick up a label next and deposit the label on a cylinder from which it is transferred eventually to a bottle. The drive members are externally splined axially and are each surrounded by an internally axially splined clutch member. The drive member has a smooth bore to permit it to rotate on a shaft that is driven in oscillating fashion as the turret rotates. The oscillating shaft has a transversely extending element on which there are axially projecting teeth that engage in corresponding recesses in the clutch member to effect oscillation of the pallet shaft.

  • Patent number: 4428474
Abstract: A rotating radial unit has bottle receiving recesses on its periphery for accepting bottles from a linear conveyor. A pair of elements are mounted on the unit adjacent each receiver for moving towards and away from the receiver. A belt runs around rolls that are on both elements so portions of the belt grip a bottle on each side when the elements are moved toward each other automatically. A motor can drive the belt to rotate the gripped bottle as it is transported on the unit. A sensing device controls the motor to start and rotate the bottle and to stop when a marker on the bottle is rotated to a preferred orientation or alignment so a series of bottles will be aligned identically as they are released. The elements are automatically spread apart to release the grip of the belt on the bottle.
