  • Patent number: 11715070
Abstract: Workers often forget to enter clockings indicating when they have arrived or left work or transferred between work activities. Various embodiments provide a system that predicts the risk of potential missed worker clockings and delivers alerts to the workers and/or their managers when that risk is high. The system analyzes historical data to find previous instances of missed clockings at an organization, extracts feature information regarding the context of the missed clockings, and calibrates a missing clocking risk model. The model is then used in either an online or batch mode to predict the risk of workers missing upcoming scheduled clockings. Based on these risk scores and system configurations, alerts are generated for employees and managers reminding them about the upcoming clockings and lowering the amount of missed clockings and subsequent remedies.

  • Patent number: 11481792
Abstract: A computer-implemented method of training machine learning models for making simulated estimations is provided. The method includes collecting, from a database, a set of historical data, applying one or more transformations to the set of historical data to create a set of model features, and separating the set of model features into one or more pools, each pool comprising one or more model features of the set that are homogeneous with respect to a common value. the method further includes, for each pool, dynamically creating a training set that includes the one or more sets of model features of the pool and at least some of the historical data. The method further includes, for each training set, training a machine learning model on the training set.

  • Patent number: 7865730
Abstract: A system and method for a web browser to convert an unencrypted character string into a cipher-text string combines a public-key encryption algorithm with a unique and constantly changing salt key. A private “server-key”, a public “client-key” and a server session ID are generated by the server, and the client-key and the session ID are sent to the browser with the code used to encrypt the message. The session-based string can be a randomly generated set of characters which changes between established user sessions and the salt key can be formed from the server session ID string. The server contains the matching code necessary to decrypt the stream using the private key.

  • Patent number: 7233919
Abstract: A method for calculating employee compensation includes associating sets of attributes with pay categories. An employee's shifts are split into sub-shifts, responsive to work parameters. A set of attributes is determined for each sub-shift. Each set of attributes is a unique combination of attributes. Sets of attributes are associated with pay categories through a pay category mapping matrix which maps each set of attributes to one or more pay categories. The pay categories with which the set of attributes associated with a particular subshift is associated are then determined responsive to the mapping. A total compensation for an employee is then determined for a pay period by adding the amounts determined for each subshift of the pay period. A compensation qualifier can be associated with each pay category, such that determining compensation for an employee for the sub-shift responsive to the assigned pay category, is in turn responsive to the employee's base pay and the compensation qualifier.

  • Patent number: 7222082
Abstract: A business volume and workforce requirements forecaster includes a business structure, a forecast structure, certain hierarchical levels which map to corresponding levels in the business structure, a volume forecaster which forecasts business volume responsive to historical data and to the business and forecast structures, and a workforce requirements engine which forecasts workforce requirements responsive to the forecast business volume. Business volume is forecast for a predefined duration, responsive to both a first set of historical data, and to the business and forecast structures. Calculation of workforce requirements includes task level consolidation and resource leveling, and can include dynamic standard assignment, wherein different metrics are selected at different times, and where a task is associated with a plurality of standards. An event calendar is defined, and at least one event is selected from the calendar and considered in the step of forecasting.

  • Patent number: 6823315
Abstract: A method of dynamically scheduling a workforce includes obtaining workforce requirements, attributes and employee preferences, determining a workforce schedule based on the workforce requirements and attributes, determining a schedule value based on workforce requirements and employee preferences, and iteratively modifying the workforce schedule, determining a schedule value based on workforce requirements and preferences for the modified workforce schedule, and comparing schedule values to determine a best workforce schedule.
