Abstract: A chair having a one-piece molded shell including a seat and a backrest that can recline relative to the seat. One or more flexible elements are mounted to the seat such that the flexible elements restrict the inward flexing of the seat as the backrest reclines. The flexible elements are positioned to allow the initial flexing of the side edges of the seat as the backrest reclines relative to the seat. A stop member is positioned relative to the flexible elements such that the stop member limits the amount of movement of the flexible elements. The flexible elements are located between the seat and the base. The flexible elements exert a bias force on the side edges of the seat to urge the backrest to return to an initial position when a reclining force is not longer exerted on the backrest.

Abstract: A system for converting a stationary chair into a rocking chair. The chair includes legs that include a horizontal leg portion located near the floor. The system includes a pair of rocking assemblies that each can be mounted to one of a pair of horizontal leg portions of the chair. The rocking assemblies each include a pair of rocker brackets that can be connected to each other and entrap the horizontal leg portion between the pair of rocker brackets. Each of the rocker brackets includes a rocker surface that has an arcuate shape and extends between a front end and a back end with a fulcrum point between the front and back ends. The fulcrum point contacts the floor and the rocker brackets allow the chair to rock along the rocker surfaces. The pair of rocker brackets can be selectively installed upon and removed from the chair legs.

The system includes a support frame that is self-supported on the floor of the open space. The support frame includes a series of head rails supported by a series of vertical columns resting on the floor. The vertical columns support a series of wall panels and the head rails support a ceiling such that the ceiling is supported by the support frame independent of the wall panels. The ceiling of the enclosed room is created by a series of ceiling panels and at least one air intake panel and at least one air exhaust panel. The air exhaust panel includes an exhaust fan that removes air from within the enclosed room and draws fresh air into the enclosed room. The ceiling can include a plurality of adjustable louvers and lighting.

The seat is designed to be selectively pivotable away from the base. When the furniture sections are joined to each other, an electrical wiring assembly extends between the furniture sections to provide electrical power to each of the furniture sections. Each of the furniture sections includes at least one electrical outlet. The electrical wiring assembly is received on the base of each of the furniture sections and is concealed beneath the seat during normal usage. When the user desires access to the electrical wiring assembly, one or more of the seats can pivot away from the base to provide access to the electrical wiring assembly. After the electrical wiring assembly has been accessed, the seat can pivot back into contact with the base where it is securely held to both the base and the lounge back.

A tube end insert is received within the open interior at the lower end of each of the leg members. A threaded internal opening of the tube end insert receives an attachment rod of either a caster wheel assembly or a glide assembly. The glide assembly includes a glide member having a support foot mounted to the threaded attachment rod. A spacer is positioned along the attachment rod between the lower end of the leg member and the support foot. The spacer is movable along the attachment rod to cover the threaded attachment rod and lock the glide member in position. The attachment rod of the caster wheel assembly is received within the tube end insert to mount the caster wheel assembly to the leg member.

An upper bearing is positioned between the mounting plate and the tablet such that the upper and lower bearings are positioned between metallic elements of the mounting assembly. A friction disc is positioned within the mounting assembly to control and adjust the pivoting movement of the tablet relative to the stationary pivot bar.
