  • Patent number: 5179751
Abstract: A vehicle for laying movable bridges formed of bridge sections which can be coupled end-to-end on the vehicle. The vehicle has at one end a laying device for displacing and laying the assembled bridge. Spaced longitudinally from the laying device is a pick-up device for picking up and supporting a bridge section so as to permit coupling of bridge sections at a same height with respect to the laying device. The pick-up device can support a plurality of the bridge sections in a coupled state, and while so supported, the coupled bridge sections can be displaced relative to the pick-up device in a direction away from the laying device. The pick-up device is spaced from the laying device by a distance which is dimensioned so that at least one bridge section can be inserted between bridge sections supported by the laying device and the pick-up device.

  • Patent number: 5066271
Abstract: A centrifuge has a generlly stationary and closed housing, a drum rotatable in the housing about a drum axis and having an end wall and an outer drum wall, a blade extending generally axially in the housing generally parallel to the drum wall, and a blade holder having an inner end carrying the blade and an outer end projecting through the housing end wall out of the housing. Seals snugly engaged between the outer end and the housing hermetically seal the housing around the holder and a guide fixed on the end wall supports the outer holder end on the housing for sliding movement of the holder and blade on the housing in an adjustment direction generally radial of the drum axis. An actuator engaged between the housing and the outer holder end displaces the holder and blade in the adjustment direction relative to the housing.

  • Patent number: 5063630
Abstract: A movable bridge has a bridge section having an upper face with a roadway thereon and a hinge having a horizontal axis perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the bridge. There is a lower chord fixed to and extending along the length of the bridge section. The bridge section includes a roadway section disposed in an end region of the bridge section and pivotally attached at the hinge.

  • Patent number: 5048668
Abstract: A paddle wheel, bulk-goods pick-up and moving device is disclosed, which picks up bulk goods from a storage container and deposits the same into the paddle wheel's interior. The device is provided with a motor-driven driving gear provided with a coaxially extending drive shaft immediately adjacent the driving gear. The shaft is provided with external serrations, and the interior central bore of the paddle wheel is provided with complementary internal serrations which matingly engage with the serrations of the drive shaft. The drive shaft, which causes the paddle wheel to rotate, is provided on the end opposite to the driving gear, with a connecting shaft portion which passes through the central bore of the paddle wheel. At the free end of the connecting shaft, a fastening mechanism is provided to secure the paddle wheel in close-coupled relation to the driving mechanism. A torque support connects the driving gear to the main structure.

  • Patent number: 4978105
Abstract: A steel mill system includes a metallurgical furnace and a further processing system such as a continuous casting system and/or one or more stations for treatment of the steel melt. At least one steel ladle is loaded with steel melt below the metallurgical furnace and is moved between the metallurgical furnace and the further processing system. The steel melt is then emptied into the further processing system. In the region of its upper half, the steel ladle is equipped with a carrying mechanism which includes diametrically oppositely disposed running wheels. The steel ladle is movable in a suspended position between the metallurgical furnace, and the further processing system on rails which are adapted to the carrying mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4955151
Abstract: An excavating bucket wheel has a plurality of radially outwardly open bucket chambers disposed in a circular array. During rotation of the bucket wheel each chamber cyclically assumes a material receiving position and a material dumping position. Each bucket chamber is defined by a cutting plate supported at the wheel periphery and having a trailing edge as viewed in the direction of wheel rotation, two axially spaced, parallel side walls and a rear wall extending axially between the side walls. An outer edge of the rear wall is situated adjacent the cutting plate. Each bucket chamber is further defined by a bottom wall extending axially between the side walls and being supported for pivotal motion about an axis oriented parallel to the rotary axis of the bucket wheel and situated adjacent the outer wheel periphery. The bottom wall has a first pivotal position for receiving material and a second pivotal position for dumping material.
