    Abstract: A loading device for kneaders, screw-type extruding machines or the like, having at least one feed chute and at least one tamping tool, wherein the feed chute is provided with at least one loading opening, the feed chute is bent--completely or partially--in the shape of a circular arc, as is the tamping tool. The tamping tool is seated to pivot around a pivot point that forms the mid-point of the circular arc-shaped bend. Because of this, the front plate of the tamping tool follows a circular arc-shaped path of movement.

    Abstract: A conveying device is provided for vertically positioning ferromagnetic cans discharged from an upstream unit in a horizontal position. The conveying device includes a first direction changing band for receiving and transporting horizontally disposed ferromagnetic cans discharged from the upstream unit and having a first discharge end for discharging cans in an essentially vertical orientation. A second direction changing band is disposed along side the first direction changing band for transporting cans and has a second discharge end for discharging cans in an essentially vertical orientation. A transfer device transfers a portion of the horizontally disposed ferromagnetic cans to the second direction changing band. An upright can carrying band is disposed beneath the first and second discharge ends of the first and second direction changing bands for receiving the essentially vertically oriented cans.

    Abstract: A method of removing gums which cannot be removed by simple water degumming from plant oils having the following steps:(a) adding to a plant oil containing gum substances not hydratable with water and wax substances, substantially 0.01 to 0.08% of a food acid or an acid anhydride of a food acid in a 5 to 15% solution thereof at a temperature of 20.degree. to 70.degree. C., intimately mixing the oil and the solution and causing the oil and the solution to remain in contact for a contact time in excess of 5 minutes with slow stirring;(b) to a mixture formed in step (a) adding a 1 to 5% solution of a base at a temperature of 10.degree. to 40.degree. C.

    Abstract: A plate filter press for the mechanical separation of solids from a liquid forming a suspension. The plate filter press is made of a plurality of vertical membrane plates and filter plates, the membrane plates and filter plates alternating. The space between the membrane plates and filter plates defines a filter chamber, which can be opened by moving the plates apart. An impermeable and flexible membrane is positioned in the filter chamber and is sealed to the periphery of the membrane plate. The space between the membrane and the membrane plate defines a pressure medium chamber for receiving pressure medium. The space between the membrane and the filter plate defines a suspension chamber for receiving the suspension. Finally, a woven metal fabric filter is positioned on each side of the filter plate. Both the filter plates and the woven metal fabric filters are planar. Liquid from the suspension is discharged through the woven metal fabric filter toward the interior of the filter plates.

    Abstract: A hydraulically operated hammer drill includes a housing in which a striking piston is displaceably disposed for alternating movement. The striking piston is driven in striking and return directions by a first operating pressure. A rotatable, tool receiving device is connected to the housing for receiving an insertion end of a drilling tool and permitting displacement of the insertion end in the longitudinal direction when charged by the striking piston. A rotation drive mechanism, driven by a second operating pressure, is mounted for rotatably driving the tool receiving device during longitudinal displacement of the insertion end. A control unit is disposed along a pressure conduit supplying the first operating pressure for alternatingly switching the direction of movement of the striking piston by controlling application of the driving medium to control faces of the striking piston.

    Abstract: A conveying apparatus feeds can body blanks to a welding unit with the longitudinal edges of the can body blanks even, without being offset in the longitudinal direction. The apparatus includes a centrally disposed revolving device (5; 5'; 5") which serves as a transport unit for the can body blanks (1). Rockers (18) are connected by means of swivel axes (5b) to serve as pusher dogs. Each rocker (18) has two feed pins (18c, 18d) at its front end facing the direction of transport. In the pushing position, the feed pins simultaneously contact the rear edge of a can body blank (1) on either side of the longitudinal edges. Each of the rocker arms is provided with a control arm which extends past the swiveling axis and which has a control surface.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a hydraulic striking mechanism including a cylinder, a percussion piston guided therein and a piston return device which is supported on the percussion piston and is displaceable independently thereof and can be connected on its side facing the percussion piston tip alternatingly to a pressure source or a pressure-free return conduit. The piston return device is configured as an annular piston which is freely displaceable along the percussion piston and the cylinder and forms therewith a piston chamber. The percussion piston has an abutment face at its end remote from the percussion piston tip which cooperates with the annular piston for moving percussion piston in the return stoke direction. The percussion piston, together with the cylinder, defines an oil chamber which axially follows the piston chamber in a spaced relationship. The percussion piston is provided with a cylindrical shoulder within the oil chamber which determines its end position during the return stroke.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for producing mat packets from panels of an adhesive material which adhesive material is covered with release layers. The panel of adhesive material is advanced sequentially through a feed device, a clamping device, a release layer removing device and a cutting device. The leading edge of the panel, with the release layers removed, extends freely beyond the clamping device toward the cutting device. The panel is advanced in increments corresponding to the length of the mat strip to be produced, and, when the panels are clamped by the clamping device, the panels with release layers removed are cut into mat strips, which are deposited on a transporting device in stacks of several on top of one another to form a mat packet.
