Patents Assigned to KTR Kupplungstechnik GmbH
  • Patent number: 7324219
Abstract: In a method and a device for carrying out a measurement on a claw coupling including two coupling halves, each having claws which engage in the claws of the other coupling half, the distance between adjacent intermeshing claws is measured using a single light beam directed onto the claw region. It is thereby possible to measure the angle of twist of the coupling halves in a particularly simple fashion.

  • Patent number: 6117017
Abstract: An insertable axially, radially and angularly movable toothed coupling to enable the elastic transfer of torque from a drive motor to a machine which is to be driven, the coupling including a fastening flange (1), which, by means of an annular element (2) made of elastomeric material and subjected to torsional shear, is connected to an internally toothed coupling sleeve (3) made of plastic, by vulcanization, in such a way that the input and acceptance of the torque takes place at the spline engagement of the driving and driven elements, a coupling hub (4) made of steel which, by means of external teeth (5), grips the teeth of the coupling sleeve and, by means of internal splines (6), is connected form-fittingly and detachably to the shaft of the machine to be driven, so that the coupling hub and the coupling sleeve are adjacent to each other with annular offset surfaces (7, 8) and are secured against axial displacement by means of a retaining ring (9).

  • Patent number: 5700196
Abstract: A clutch for transmitting and limiting torque from a driving side, including a driving machine with a hub, to a driven side, and including a driven device. One pressure ring is located on the driving side, and a second pressure ring is located on the driven side. The pressure rings each include a lateral surface which face each other. At least one of the lateral surfaces has depressions formed therein. A locking spring element surrounds the hub and is in positive, detachable, active connection with the depressions. The active connection positively engages to transmit torque between the pressure rings and detaches to limit the torque transmitted between the pressure rings.

  • Patent number: 5586938
Abstract: A device which can transmit torque between a first component (e.g., a flywheel) and a coaxial or nearly coaxial second component (such as a hydraulic drive) has an internally toothed hub which transmits torque to or receives torque from one of the components, and a flange which surrounds the hub and transmits torque to or receives torque from the other component. The flange has a disc disposed in a plane normal to the axis of the hub, a rim spaced apart from the hub and surrounding the disc, and pairs of reinforcing ribs defining acute angles which diverge from the rim toward the hub. The ribs of each pair are or can be mirror images of each other with reference to a plane located between such ribs and including the axis of the hub. One rib of each pair is subjected to tensional stresses and the other rib of each pair is subjected to compressive stresses when the one component rotates the hub or vice versa. The device can be made, at least in part, of a plastic material.

  • Patent number: 5429552
Abstract: An elastic axially and angularly yieldable torque transmitting coupling which can be installed between a driving unit and a driven unit has a flange receiving torque from the driving unit and a hub which serves to transmit torque to the driven unit. The hub has an annulus of spherical external teeth in mesh with an annulus of internal teeth on a sleeve-like plastic member of the flange. The flange further includes a plastic supporting member which receives torque from the driving unit and an elastomeric connector which is located between and is vulcanized to the two members. The flange and the hub define a chamber which is surrounded by the elastomeric connector and is ventilated to prevent overheating of the connector. The ventilating system includes a circular array of air-admitting openings in the sleeve-like member radially inwardly of the connector, and a circular array of air-evacuating openings which are provided in the connecting member radially outwardly of the air-admitting openings.

  • Patent number: 5382194
Abstract: A yieldable coupling wherein an externally toothed hub which can transmit torque to a rotary driven unit mates with an internally toothed sleeve forming part of a flange further having a support connectable to the output element of a rotary driving unit and an elastomeric connector between the support and the sleeve. The connector can include one or more rubber rings which are vulcanized to the adjacent components of the flange. A needle bearing or a friction bearing can be interposed between the hub and the connector.
