Abstract: A lighting device includes a light emitting diode (LED) lamp, a power generating panel that is disposed at a position where the power generating panel is capable of receiving sunlight and light irradiated by the LED lamp and that is configured to generate electric power by receiving the sunlight and the light irradiated by the LED lamp, a storage battery that is configured to store the electric power generated by the power generating panel and to supply the electric power to the LED lamp, a lamp drive portion that is configured to drive the LED lamp using pulse signals, a remaining amount detection portion, and a control portion that is configured to control, in accordance with the remaining amount detected by the remaining amount detection portion, a pulse width and a period that are used when the lamp drive portion drives the LED lamp.
