Abstract: A process for cleaning an abrasive belt using an air blade extending continuously over the entire working width, or several segmented air blades, as well as a device which encloses this air blade or these air blades having an extraction hood serving to guide away the dust-laden air. If this device is used for a belt grinding machine equipped with a workpiece vacuum device, the air supply requirements are optimised by use of a diverter to reduce the number of fans.
Abstract: A device has laterally mobile pressure devices on belt sanders in throughfeed, which are brought into position so that workpieces detected by detectors are sanded in a laterally limited area in the longitudinal direction. An arrangement of such pressure arrangements represents, for example, a segmented sanding pad. The method of lateral movement of its segments and the devices created for this purpose enable, among other things, the sanding of frames in the wood grain direction of their individual parts and/or their center panel as well as the application of sanding patterns to workpiece surfaces.
Abstract: The invention describes a control unit for a sanding machine, which winds and unwinds the abradant paper over a contact device. This control unit continuously detects the position of one or more of these sanding machines, the abradant unwinding, the movement of the transport system and the position of the workpiece. These parameters are used to regulate the sanding machine(s) in such a way that the workpieces are fed through and the sanding operation executed without interruption.
Abstract: When a segmented grinding pad (11, 12, 13) of a continuous belt grinding machine is inclined, the modified position of the row (15) of key elements in relation to the original, for example, right-angled position of the row (11) of segments presents a problem. The aim of the invention is to carry out an approximate comparison of the deviations created by the lateral displacement of the segments S1 . . . Sn by means of a lever device (16) or a servomotor. The full compensation of the deviations of the segments from the longitudinal axis thereof to the key elements can be achieved by a special embodiment of one such device.
Abstract: A belt sanding system comprising a segmented sanding block including a plurality of individually controllable segments and one or more sanding belt deflecting rollers, a plurality of sensing elements corresponding to the plurality of segments, and a device for interconnecting the plurality of sensing elements, interconnecting the plurality of sensing elements with the segmented sanding block, and effecting lateral movement of the plurality of sensing elements as the segmented sanding block is rotated to an oblique alignment relative to the feed direction.
