Abstract: To reduce the manufacturing expense of turbine blades and specifically, to extensively avoid their stock removal type processing, a blade is constructed of a metallic core and an outer skin which covers at least approximately the entire wetted surface of the turbine blade and is made by molding, from a nonmetallic material such as polyurethane, caoutchouc or similar elastomeric plastic.
