Patent number: 6619196Abstract: An apparatus for printing on golf tees or other conical objects. The apparatus includes a singler from which the objects are discharged one-by-one. From the singler, the objects are deposited onto a rack. In some versions of the invention, the singler vibrates. The rack is mechanically separate from the singler so that the vibrations of the singler are not transmitted to the rack. A conveyor adjacent the rack individually picks up each object. More particularly, the object is held between a pair of opposed entraining pins on the conveyor. As the object moves horizontally along the conveyor, it is passed underneath a printer that prints on the object.Type: GrantFiled: January 24, 2002Date of Patent: September 16, 2003Assignee: Kunz GmbHInventor: Frank Dorner

Patent number: 5934346Abstract: Disclosed is a device for machining panels, in particular panels made of derived timber products, in and essentially horizontal position. The device has a sawing and/or milling jig with at least one saw blade and/or at least on milling cutter. The device is preferably fitted with a combined sawing/milling jig whose movements are controlled by computer using several parameters. The device can also have a preferably computer-controlled panel-holding rig, a suction device for removing machining residues, such as chips and dust, means for conveying the panel and/or cutouts out of the device following machining or means for lifting the machined panel.Type: GrantFiled: January 27, 1998Date of Patent: August 10, 1999Assignees: Schenk Werkzeug und Maschinenbau GmbH, Kunz GmbH & Co.Inventors: Joachim Windeisen, Wolfgang Schnabel

Patent number: 5709484Abstract: An apparatus for double-sided printing of identification cards (1) has a printing unit (2) with a thermal printhead (17), a card transport device, an input sensor (8) and an output sensor (9) as well as a reversing unit (3) for reversing and further transporting the printed card (1) which is provided with a rotor (36) with a rotating card transport device. The card transport device on the rotor (36) is controlled so that it feeds the card (1) printed on one side and turned by 180.degree. to the printing unit (2) again without changing its direction of rotation. The card transport apparatus of the printing unit (2) is switchable from the forward to the return transport direction (A and B, respectively) for return transport of the card (1) from the output sensor (9) to the input sensor (8). When the card (1) reaches the input sensor (8) upon return transport, the card transport device is switched back for printing the other side of the card (1) and feeding it to the reversing unit (A) again.Type: GrantFiled: April 24, 1996Date of Patent: January 20, 1998Assignee: Kunz GmbHInventor: Frank Dorner

Patent number: 4990026Abstract: In a process of lowering building structures, such as shutdown nuclear power plants or building structures which are to be erected as they are lowered, a caisson is constructed below the bed plate of the building structure. The caisson has a reinforced top plate for supporting the building structure by means of supporting elements and a reinforced concrete ring which depends from the rim of the top plate to constitute a cutting edge. A transfer duct, which is lowered with the top plate, is provided adjacent the rim of the top plate. Superatmospheric pressure is maintained by means of air locks in a working chamber which is defined under the top plate and enclosed by the ring.Type: GrantFiled: January 24, 1989Date of Patent: February 5, 1991Assignee: Alfred Kunz GmbH & Co.Inventor: Josef Ofenstein

Patent number: 4923338Abstract: The process herein disclosed to lower into the ground building structures, such as shutdown nuclear power plants or building structures to be erected as they are lowered. A caisson for supporting the building structure is provided below the bed plate of the building structure, and is lowered in steps together with the building structure. To permit a controlled lowering of the building structure by a predeterminable distance, the caisson is provided with a reinforced concrete top plate and with a reinforced concrete outer ring which depends from the rim of the top plate and constitutes an outer cutting edge. An inner reinforced concrete ring, which constitutes an inner cutting edge is arranged approximately on the same level as the outer ring. Hydraulic presses are placed between the top surface of the inner ring and the bottom surface of the top plate and are used to support the top plate on the inner ring.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 1989Date of Patent: May 8, 1990Assignee: Alfred Kunz GmbH & Co.Inventors: Edmund Hertle, Siegfried Hausner
