The rod extends from a subterranean water supply to ambient. The lower end of the assembly forms a sliding seal with an upwardly opening cylindrical seat communicating with the subterranean water supply. An upper end of the pressure sensor assembly includes a cap locking the assembly to a protective pipe surrounding the rod.
