  • Patent number: 4722792
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a filter in use for centrifugal separator including a filter film between a sample chamber and a filtrate chamber. The filter film is inclined or parallel to an axis of the filter. Accordingly, when the filter is utilized for either the angle rotor type and swing rotor type of centrifugal separators, the filter is positioned, during operation, so as to be inclined or parallel to the direction of the centrifugal force so that the residue contained in the liquid sample in the sample chamber moves radially outwardly with respect to the axis of the rotors so as to slide on the filter film or so as to leave from the filter film. Thus, the filter film will not easily result in clogging with the residue so that the high filtration speed can be maintained for a long period of time.

  • Patent number: 4581275
Abstract: The present invention provides a base cloth for reinforcement produced by winding a weldable yarn on either one of a warp or weft or the both at a definite interval, arranging the warp and weft in the respective directions and then thermally welding the both yarns. According to this method, the fraying of warp or weft, particularly easy fluffing of carbon fibers, etc. can be prevented by winding the weldable yarn. And, it is sufficient for the weldable yarn to be present at the intersections between the warp and weft. Consequently, as compared with a case wherein the whole weft is impregnated with adhesives, penetration of the matrix resin can sufficiently be attained and thus, strength in the weft direction can be improved.

  • Patent number: 4545009
Abstract: Estimated fuel flow rate is calculated by reading first data of the relationship between the opening degree of a fuel control valve and a fuel flow rate. Then, a compensation coefficient is calculated based on the estimated fuel flow rate, and the actual fuel flow rate is controlled on the basis of the compensation coefficient. Estimated excess air ratio is calculated by reading second data representing the relationship between the opening rate of an air control damper and the air flow rate. Then, the actual fuel flow rate and the air flow rate are controlled depending on the predetermined relationship of values between the estimated excess air ratio and the desired excess air ratio.

  • Patent number: 4460633
Abstract: The present invention provides a non-woven reinforcements for resinous composite. The reinforcements are constructed with warps consisting of non-twist yarns or soft twist yarns of multi-filament having a high strength and a high modulus on one or both sides of wefts of non-twist yarns of soft twist yarns containing adhesive agent, in which the warps and the wefts are bonded at intersections thereof. As the reinforcement of the present invention has no flexure different from a woven fabric, fiber's physical property such as a high strength, a high modulus and the like is reflected faultlessly on the composite using the reinforcement. In the reinforcement warp is not substantially restrained, so that matrix resin can be impregnated sufficiently into the reinforcement.Further, because the warps and wefts are bonded at intersections by adhesion, the reinforcement is much easier to be handled without deformation or falling off especially after cutting than the case of a woven fabric.

  • Patent number: 4302205
Abstract: Nitrogen oxide contained in the flue-gas from a heating unit is removed in a nitrogen oxide removal unit by injection of nitrogen oxide removing agent in an amount determined by the amount of the nitrogen oxide contained in the flue-gas. Such amount of nitrogen oxide contained in the flue-gas is detected, on the one hand, by the estimation obtained through calculation using factors such as rate of supply of fuel to the heating unit and concentration of oxygen in the flue-gas, and on the other hand, by direct measurement, for a fail-safe system.

  • Patent number: 4204011
Abstract: A method of driving or permeating a powdery material into a porous material such as an open-cell cellular material or a fabric, of a type having an open-celled structure, that is, having interconnected cells. Permeation of the powdery material into the porous material is carried out by spreading a mass of powdery particles on one surface of the porous material and applying vibrations to the powdery particles through a vibrating element in contact with the particles so as to cause the particles to be uniformly distributed in the porous material. The frequency and amplitude of the vibrations are selected so as to minimize scattering of the powdery material, and are within the ranges of 50 to 50,000 Hz, and 50 to 1,500 .mu.m, respectively.

  • Patent number: 4172869
Abstract: The manufacture is carried out by impregnating bundles of filaments of fibrous-reinforcing material in a bath made up of an emulsion of a thermoplastic resin and a blowing agent. The emulsion-impregnated reinforcing filament bundles are then squeezed and dried to form resin coatings, and then collected to provide a single bunch of the fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin material. This bunch is subsequently heated and allowed to expand in a tunnel and also cooled in a tunnel to produce a fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin of a cellular structure. During the impregnation with the emulsion in a bath, the bundles are slackened and repeatedly beaten in the condition of free tension to cause the filament bundles to be substantially frayed to facilitate the impregnation. An apparatus utilizable in the practice of the above method is also disclosed.
