    Abstract: Disclosed is an acetyltransferase activity measuring agent which contains an arylamine derivative. As the arylamine derivative, sodium p-aminohippurate can be used preferably. Use of the acetyltransferase activity measuring agent of this invention permits a simple and safe diagnosis of the progress of the pathema of nephritis, which is accompanied by a mesangial proliferative lesion, or renal insufficiency. Furthermore, the scattering of measured values is small, thereby assuring an accurate diagnosis.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein is a gas barrier film formed from a mixture containing polyvinyl alcohol and a partially neutralized product of poly(meth)acrylic acid in a weight ratio of 95:5 to 10:90, and having an oxygen permeability constant of 1.25.times.10.sup.-3 ml(STP).multidot.cm/m.sup.2 .multidot.h.multidot.atm{Pa} or smaller as measured under conditions of 30.degree. C. and 80% relative humidity. A production process of the gas barrier film, in which a film formed from a mixture containing polyvinyl alcohol and a partially neutralized product of poly(meth)acrylic acid is subjected to a heat treatment under specific conditions, is also disclosed. The gas barrier film of the invention is excellent in water resistance and oxygen gas barrier property, free of any chlorine atom, and scarcely colored.

The resin magnetic compound and a molded article obtained from the compound are excellent in thermal shock resistance, magnetic characteristics, and heat resistance.

    Abstract: A non-aqueous solvent-type secondary battery having a large charge-discharge capacity and exhibiting a high utilization rate of an active substance, such as lithium, and an excellent charge-discharge cycle characteristic, can be constituted by using a carbonaceous electrode material having a specific microtexture. The carbonaceous electrode material is characterized by having an average (002)-plane spacing d.sub.002 of 0.336-0.375 nm and a crystallite size in c-axis direction Lc.sub.(002) of at most 50 nm, respectively, as measured by X-ray diffraction method, and an optically anisotropic texture showing a fine mosaic texture when observed through a polarizing microscope. The carbonaceous material may suitably be produced through a process including the steps of: crosslinking a tar or pitch of a petroleum or coal origin, and carbonizing the crosslinked tar or pitch at a temperature of at least 800.degree. C. under a reduced pressure or in an inert gas atmosphere.

The graft copolymer is obtained by graft-polymerizing 50-95 wt. parts of a monomer selected from (b1) a monomer mixture comprising 60-90 wt. % of an aromatic vinyl monomer, 40-10 wt. % of a vinyl cyanide monomer, and 0-30 wt. % of a monomer copolymerizable with the monomers and (b2) an alkyl methacrylate having an alkyl group including 1-4 carbon atoms in the presence of a latex containing 5-50 wt. parts of a rubber polymer with respect to the total of the monomer and the rubber polymer as 100 wt. parts. The graft copolymer includes a graft-polymerized component having a weight-average molecular weight 50.times.10.sup.4 -300.times.10.sup.4. The polycarbonate resin composition shows a good extrudability and provides a sheet product which exhibits good thermoforming characteristics, such as suppressed drawdown and good deep drawability.
