  • Patent number: 6230481
Abstract: A base frame for a gas turbine and driven machinery such as generators and the like, includes a centrally arranged hollow section which acts as a torsion-absorbing body, sections or wings which extend from the hollow section and form an angle of approximately 90° with the longitudinal axis of the hollow profile, one or more plate-shaped bodies arranged to cover wholly or partly the hollow section and the sections, wherein between the plate-shaped bodies, the sections and the hollow section there is formed at least one chamber on each side of the longitudinal axis of the hollow section, in which chambers there are provided pull-out modules which can house operating and control systems for the gas turbine, and that the hollow section is in the form of a hollow section having a rectangular cross-section.

  • Patent number: 6196795
Abstract: A device and method for adapting a turbine package, including a turbine and a frame (R), where the turbine includes an inlet bell mouth (1, 4, 8) and/or an exhaust bell mouth, and where there is a difference in length between two or more dissimilar models of turbines, so that the anchorage points (12, 13) of the bell mouth door (2, 5) or the plenum wall for the turbines do not correspond. The adaptation may, for example, be carried out either by extending the inlet bell mouth (8) of the shorter turbine, so that the anchorage points (12, 13) of the bell mouth doors (5, 10) of the two turbines correspond and by producing the frame sot hat the bell mouth door (10) is positioned in accordance with the corresponding anchorage points (12, 13), or by providing the bell mouth door with a conical section (24) having a length corresponding to the length difference between the turbines.

  • Patent number: 5927065
Abstract: In a combined plant including a gas turbine (1) and an air bottoming gas turbine aggregate (2) which includes air compressors (8) and a turbine (9) coupled thereto, wherein the gas turbine outlet gas is in heat exchange with the compressed air from the compressor (8), the gas turbine (1, 6) and the air turbine (9) are provided with mutually rotary dependent torque shafts (10), so that the plant may be controlled by simply controlling the flow of fuel to the gas turbine.

  • Patent number: 5813106
Abstract: A method and machine for manufacturing and laying a plurality of elongate elements into an umbilical is shown. The umbilical comprises a core element a plurality of conduits and/or cables suited outside the core element, filler material around and between the conduits/cables and a protective sheath surrounding the conduits and filler material. The finished cable cord is characterized in that the filler material is in the form of inner, elongate channel elements having outwardly opening channels, adapted for receipt of the conduits/cables, and outer, elongate channel elements having inwardly opening channels adapted for receipt and final enclosure of the conduits/cables.

  • Patent number: 5501549
Abstract: A tool for the remote-controlled pulling, aligning and connecting of a subsea conduit to a subsea installation. The tool includes a framework, a pulling wire with a pulling head which can be releasably attached to the end of the subsea conduit and also optionally aligning means which bring the ends of the conduit which are to be connected in line with one another. The tool has a frame pivotally mounted on the framework around a substantially horizontal axis oriented substantially at right angle to the axis of the conduit and at almost the same height at which the conduit will finally lie, said frame including a grip elevator which can grip and hold the pulled conduit and manipulate the end of the conduit between a slanting pulling position and a final substantially horizontal connecting position.

  • Patent number: 5379798
Abstract: A hydraulic coupling comprising a first part having at least one check valve, a second part having at least one check valve, and a seal plate designed to be placed between the first and second parts. The first part, second part and seal plate are oriented in relation to one another. At least one connecting member disposed in the seal plate to establish communication between the interdependent check valves. In the extension of each check valve there is disposed a cylindrical surface, the center axis of which coincides with that of the check valves, and said connecting member is at each end formed with partial, open spherical cups for external sealing interaction with the cylindrical surfaces, the internal spherical surfaces being subjected to the same pressure as that in the medium which passes through the valves and the connecting member for the purpose of actuating the radial forces in the spherical cup. On the outside of the hydraulic coupling a tool can be used to carry out the coupling operation.
