Abstract: The tower or tower foot for a spherical tank for use in the transport of cold products is designed in order to be able to absorb stresses from the tower on the tank shell with a desired degree of flexibility, preferably in the tower foot, e.g. in a zone (A-A') thereof, and/or as a flexible element.
Abstract: A tank, especially adopted for use aboard a ship, for transporting liquid natural gas. The tank comprises two substantially identical hemispherical sections which are connected to each other via a cylindrical section. The diameter of the cylindrical section corresponds to the diameter of the spherical sections. The length of the cylindrical section is less than 1/3 of its diameter. Further, the tank meets the standards of a Type B classification according to the regulations of the International Maritime Organization.
Abstract: A device for connecting a container wall with a pipe which extends through the container wall. The device comprises a muff which is provided on the outside of the pipe. One end section of the muff is connected with the pipe and the container wall is connected with the muff at a point located at a distance from this end section. The one end section of the muff comprises a ring flange which is arranged for a sealing and releasable connection with a ring flange of the pipe.
Abstract: A device for spherical ship's tanks (1), especially for liquid natural gas, comprising discharge pipes and filling pipes (3, 4 respectively) which extend vertically and centrally in the tank (1). The upper part of the pipes (3, 4) is attached to the tank and they extend down to the bottom (11) of the tank (1), being suspended in the tank, and the bottom part being passed slidably into respective muffs (15), which are permanently connected to the tank bottom (1). Between the pipes (3, 4) there extend cross-members (5, 6), these together with the pipes (3, 4) forming a truss beam.
