Patents Assigned to Kwik-Way Manufacturing Company
  • Patent number: 4789275
Abstract: A boring stand for supporting engine blocks or cylinders which are to be bored that has a moveable platform which is slidably mounted on a vertical upright of a stand and has polyethylene wear plates engageable with a vertical upright. The moveable platform has a cable with one end which connects to an upper portion of the stand and a lower portion which passes around a reel within the platform structure which can be driven by a worm wheel and worm and which has a crank handle attached to the worm. The worm and worm wheel assures that the platform will stay in a preset position after adjustment and allows the platform to be positioned to any desired height.

  • Patent number: 4302882
Abstract: An apparatus and method for aligning an internal combustion engine block to be bored by a vertically movable boring tool so that the center of rotation of a crankshaft to be mounted within the engine block is perpendicular to the direction of vertical movement of the tool.

  • Patent number: 4228621
Abstract: An improved automotive valve surfacing machine has a variable speed chuck assembly driven by a variable speed AC gear motor. The speed of the motor is set by a potentiometer. A one-way clutch assembly located between an output shaft of the variable speed motor and the chuck assembly provides a release mechanism whereby the chuck assembly may be freely turned in one direction, using a knob located at one end thereof, to visually inspect the valve surface being surfaced without any drag due to the gear motor.

  • Patent number: 4126066
Abstract: A damper for use with work arbors supported at only one end is disclosed which acts to reduce harmonic vibration and chatter as the arbor rotates and a cutting tool operates on the workpiece. The damper consists of a damping collar, with an interior radius greater than the exterior radius of an associated spacer, which freely rotates on that spacer such that the collar rotates independently of the work arbor at a speed of about 66% of the arbor's speed and acts to suppress undesirable chatter, and harmonic vibrations.
