Abstract: A user interface works with a conflicts engine and print driver to check and prevent conflicts between the attributes related to job settings of a print job. Constraints are defined by the printing device. These constraints put limits on what can be printed. Job settings are selected for the print job by the operator using a user interface. Attributes related to the job settings are determined. Constraints are adjusted by values for the attributes. Potential conflicts are determined using the adjusted constraints and a property of the print job.

  • Publication number: 20240036511
Abstract: A driving force transmission mechanism transmits a driving force fed from a driving source to a rotary member. The driving force transmission mechanism includes a driving gear, a drive-side coupling, an output-side coupling, and an urging member. The driving gear rotates by being fed with the driving force from the driving source, and has a hollow space along the rotation axis direction. The drive-side coupling is inserted in the hollow space in the driving gear, and rotates together with the driving gear. The output-side coupling is integral with the rotary member, and can couple with the drive-side coupling along the rotation axis direction. The urging member urges one of the drive-side coupling and the output-side coupling toward the other along the rotation axis direction.

  • Patent number: 11886944
Abstract: A spot color adjustment system allows an operator to adjust spot colors through the use of test charts printed at a printing device. A target color swatch is determined from a first spot color. A test chart is generated based on the target color swatch that includes a plurality of rings of color swatches centered on the target color swatch. Each ring of color swatches is positioned around the target color swatch at an adjustment value. The adjustment value for each ring of color swatches corresponds to a color change from the target color swatch. The system allows for determining a number of rings of color swatches depending on a selected paper size. The outer rings of a large number of rings of color include intermediary color swatches. A midpoint color is determined from a plurality of selected color swatches. The system provides color swatches showing gray component replacement.

  • Patent number: 11884504
Abstract: A sheet conveying device includes a separation member, a second conveyance member, a third conveyance member, and a first drive control portion. The separation member separates a sheet in contact with a first conveyance member from another at a first position where the first conveyance member comes into contact with the sheet. The second and third conveyance members are respectively downstream of the first and second positions. The first drive control portion stops driving the first conveyance member (1) after the leading edge of the sheet reaches the second position and before the trailing edge of the sheet passes through the first position when the sheet length is not exceeding a specific distance based on a distance between the first and third positions and (2) after the leading edge reaches the third position and before the trailing edge passes through the first position when the length exceeds the specific distance.

  • Publication number: 20240027936
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an image carrying member, a charging device, an exposure device, a developing device, and a control section. The developing device includes a development container for containing a non-magnetic one-component developer composed only of a toner, a developer carrying member having an outer circumferential surface on which a toner layer is formed, and a regulation blade that regulates a thickness of the toner layer. The control section executes speed reduction control to reduce a rotation speed of the developer carrying member at a time of warming-up before image formation to a first speed lower than a reference speed at a time of the image formation. In the speed reduction control, the control section raises the rotation speed of the developer carrying member at a first acceleration rate until the first speed is reached from a state where rotation of the developer carrying member is stopped.

  • Publication number: 20240027931
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an image carrying member, a charging device, an exposure device, a developing device, a development voltage power supply, and a control section. The developing device includes a development container for containing a non-magnetic one-component developer composed only of a toner, a developer carrying member having an outer circumferential surface on which a toner layer is formed, and a toner supply member that supplies the toner to the developer carrying member. The control section performs control so that, as a cumulative drive time of the developing device increases, a supply voltage Vsdc becomes larger than a reference supply voltage and a development voltage Vdc becomes smaller than a reference development voltage, thus executing control to vary the development voltage Vdc and the supply voltage Vsdc so as to increase a potential difference Vsdc?Vdc between the supply voltage Vsdc and the development voltage Vdc.
