Abstract: The whole area of volatile memories is equally divided into 16 memory blocks which are separated into 4 groups each having 4 memory blocks located away from each other. Every one of the 4 groups is selected for error-checking on memory at a power-on and is shifted sequentially. An image for selecting a plurality of error-checking types on memory is displayed on a control panel, and error-checking on memory is performed according to a user's selection. In another embodiment, instead of at a power-on, a memory check is performed as a preprocessing of a power-off, and the result of the check is stored in a non-volatile memory to display it at the next power-on. The error-checking on memory may be performed if the number of power-on times is equal to a set time, if an abnormality has occurred, or if the present time is equal to a set time.
Abstract: The respective jobs of copying, printing, scanning, and faxing processed by an integrated application are unitarily divided into four job steps. A package of function modules 41A selectively used in the respective jobs is classified into four groups of input, create, edit, and output function modules 410 to 412 according to the division. A data format is unified into bitmap by a create function module 411A, and the bitmap data is processed by an edit function module 411B for pagination or aggregation, etc. In response to receiving setting information and a job code, a job controlling module 43A creates job step control blocks 440 to 442 and writes the information therein to create a job. Each of job step controlling (JSC) modules 450 to 452 starts a function module for each page, and after the completion thereof, creates a thread control block for the next downstream side JSC module.

Abstract: In this transfer device, when a straight line is regarded to be a support axis P connecting a press-contacting point between the first roller and the drum to a press-contacting point between the second roller and the stopper, a moment of the resilient member of the second roller side to the support axis P is larger than the sum of a moment of the resilient member of the first roller side to the support axis P and a moment of the resilient means to the support axis P. Upon adjusting the moments as described above, a stable and reliable contact is maintained at the pair of press-contacting points of the positioning roller to the drum, completely preventing the deviation in the press-contacting points, stably and reliably limiting the gap between the transfer roller and the drum, and, hence, forming an excellently transferred image.
