    Abstract: A method and apparatus for printing repeat patterns of various lengths from a printing apparatus with a limited number of printing cylinders by driving the web being printed and the rotary printing means at a predetermined speed ratio. An impression element for pressing the web against the rotary printing cylinder has an impression portion with a radius of curvature in a range of from 2 mm to 70 mm.
