Abstract: The present invention relates to a composition for inhibiting the secretion of an immunoglobulin E (IgE)-dependent histamine-releasing factor, and pharmaceutical use thereof. The composition of the present invention contains a benzimidazolic compound having proton pump inhibitor activity, as an active ingredient. Furthermore, the composition of the present invention may contain at least one substance selected from the group consisting of fenoctimine, oleic acid, catechin, scopadulciol, pentagalloyl glucose, bufalin, and macrolide antibiotic bafilomycin and concanamycin, all having proton pump inhibitor activity, as an additional active ingredient or a single active ingredient. The composition of the present invention can be advantageously used as a pharmaceutical composition for the prevention and treatment of various allergic diseases and malaria, which are caused by the IgE-dependent histamine-releasing factor.
