Abstract: The invention relates to a reinforcement member comprising a heatcurable structural adhesive on a carrier member, wherein the carrier member comprises a fiber-reinforced polyester material. The invention further relates to a method to produce such a reinforcement member and its use.
Abstract: A damping material is disclosed along with a method of forming and/or using the damping material. The damping material may be used in a variety of applications, however, has been found particularly useful in aerospace applications.
Abstract: The present invention is predicated upon the provision of a system and method for reinforcement of a structural member, which may include attachment features for placement of an activatable material onto a carrier and/or attachment of the system to a structural member.

Abstract: The present invention is predicated upon the provision of systems and methods for reinforcement of a structural member. More particularly, the present invention is predicated upon unique carrier configurations and application of reinforcing material thereto. In one configuration, the application of reinforcing material is achieved without the use of fasteners, adhesives, or both, for placement, locating and restrictive movement of the reinforcing material onto the carrier.
Abstract: An activatable material and articles incorporating the same is disclosed The activatable material includes at least two of epoxy resin; impact modifier; blowing agent; curing agent; and filler. The activatable material is preferably used for sealing, baffling, adhering or reinforcing an article of manufacture such as an automotive vehicle.

Abstract: Components useful for the provision of structural reinforcement of hollow profiles and/or sealants and/or acoustic baffles are provided. The components comprise a carrier in which is formed a plurality of cavities for receipt of foamable material, the foam may then be foamed to bridge the gap between the carrier and the internal surface of the hollow profile to form a bond there between. Different types of foam may be employed in different cavities to provide a multifunctional component.

Abstract: An automotive vehicle frame reinforcement system has a skeleton member designed to be secured to a vehicle frame, such as a roof or pillar section. An expandable material, such as an epoxy-based reinforcing foam, is disposed on the skeleton member. Once the system is attached to the frame, the foam expands and cures during an automobile assembly operation, bonding the reinforcement system to the frame. As a result, the reinforcement system provides enhanced load distribution over the vehicle frame without adding excessive weight.
