Abstract: A computer-implemented method for coding a digital signal intended to be processed by a digital computing system includes the steps of: receiving a sample of the digital signal quantized on a number Nd of bits, decomposing the sample into a plurality of binary words of parameterizable bit size Np, coding the sample through a plurality of pairs of values, each pair comprising one of the binary words and an address corresponding to the position of the binary word in the sample, transmitting the pairs of values to an integration unit in order to carry out a MAC operation between the sample and a weighting coefficient.

Abstract: Hairstyle transfer is challenging due to hair structure differences in the source and target hair. Latent Optimization of Hairstyles via Orthogonalization (LOHO) is an optimization-based approach using GAN inversion to infill missing hair structure details in latent space during hairstyle transfer. Hair is decomposed into three attributes: perceptual structure, appearance, and finer style, and includes tailored losses to model each of these attributes independently. Two-stage optimization and gradient orthogonalization enable disentangled latent space optimization of the three hair attributes. Using LOHO for latent space manipulation, users can synthesize novel photorealistic images by manipulating hair attributes either individually or jointly, transferring the desired attributes from reference hairstyles.
Abstract: A method for generating a reflectometry signal intended to be injected into a transmission line in order to identify the presence of at least one possible fault on the line, the method includes the steps of: generating a first multi-carrier digital signal on a first set of frequency carriers, generating a second corrective multi-carrier digital signal on a second set of frequency carriers separate from the first set, summing the first digital signal and the second corrective digital signal so as to generate a reflectometry signal, normalizing the frequency carriers of the reflectometry signal, the second corrective digital signal being determined so as to reduce the peak to average power ratio of the reflectometry signal with respect to the first digital signal.

Abstract: Systems and methods for facilitating product preferences and/or product recommendations are disclosed. Biometric data of the subject are taken into account by the systems and methods in order to determine product preferences and/or product recommendations. Other factors of the subject, although optional, may be also taken into account while determining product preferences and/or product recommendations for a subject. These product preferences or recommendations can be presented to the subject, either automatically via a display device or with assistance from a product consultant. To obtain the biometric data, the subject will be exposed to a number of stimuli, such as fragrance/scent stimuli. Biometric data will then be collected from the subject based on her response to this fragrance/scent stimuli. In some examples, the collected biometric data relates to a subject's event-related potential (ERP)—the measured brain response that is the direct result of a specific sensory, cognitive, or motor event.

Abstract: An electromechanical microsystem including an electromechanical transducer, a deformable diaphragm and a cavity hermetically containing a deformable medium keeping a constant volume under the action of an external pressure change. The deformable diaphragm forms a wall of the cavity and has at least one free area so as to be elastically deformed. The electromechanical transducer is configured so that its movement depends on the change in the external pressure, and vice versa. The free area cooperates with an external member so that its deformation induces, or is induced by, a movement of the external member. Thus, the electromechanical microsystem is adapted to displace the external member or to detect a movement of this member, the electromechanical microsystem includes at least one pin, configured to bear on a peripheral portion of the free area so that a deformation of the free rea causes an inclination of the pin.

Abstract: Methods and systems for VTO provide an augmented reality experience. Webpage components define different VTO experiences for different products/services and different instances (e.g., hair, nail or makeup products with different colors). The components can integrate with a webpage, for example, as an advertisement. When executed on a user device, the components provide a VTO for a particular product including a collection of interfaces that provide a model image experience. Pre-rendered “after” model images using an appropriate VTO engine show the product/services. The after model images can be presented prior to a live user image experience enabled by a corresponding user device executed VTO engine rendering a product instance to a user image. The model experience can be presented while the user image experience (e.g. its VTO engine) is readied. The model experience can be presented in a same/overlapping region as the user image experience, for example.
