Abstract: A bedding foundation has a linear actuator for moving a roller carriage forward and backwards. The roller carriage includes wheels which move along rails supported below a rigid platform having an opening extending through the platform. The roller carriage includes a lifter which raises and lowers a roller independently of the movement of the linear actuator. Regardless of the position of the linear actuator, the roller may be raised or lowered. The roller moves back and forth inside the opening extending through the rigid platform and imparts a massage movement to a mattress above the foundation.

Abstract: A pocketed spring assembly comprises parallel strings, each string joined to at least one adjacent string. At least some of the strings have springs of different gauge wire and some of the pockets of the strings having springs of different gauge wire are spliced together. At least some of the strings have springs of different geometries and some of the pockets of the strings having springs of different geometries are spliced together. At least some strings may have end sections with springs different than a middle section therebetween, the springs of the end sections being firmer than the springs of the middle section.

Abstract: A flexible foam composition includes a flexible foam body having a surface, which flexible foam is polyurethane and/or latex flexible foam, and an expandable graphite layer on the surface or within the foam surface adjacent to the surface. The flexible foam composition with the expandable graphite layer imparts improved flame retardant properties to the composition.

Abstract: A fiberglass frame for a shipping container supports dunnage or other support members for separating parts. The fiberglass frame comprises four hollow vertical edge members made of fiberglass, each extending between corner assemblies. The fiberglass frame further comprises a roof and a base each made of hollow fiberglass members. Each hollow fiberglass member extends between two corner assemblies. The corner assemblies are also made of fiberglass. The inherent lack of electrical conductivity in the frame prevents sensitive parts shipped in the dunnage or other support members from being damaged or compromised.

Abstract: An adjustable bed base has a subframe assembly including a subframe which may be inclined relative to a stationary frame by a primary linear actuator. An articulating deck is attached to the subframe. Secondary linear actuators articulate the deck. The subframe assembly is pivotally secured to a portion of the stationary frame. The subframe may be inclined by extending the primary linear actuator which moves ramps, causing wheels attached to the subframe to ride upwardly along the ramps, thereby raising the head end of the subframe relative to the stationary frame.

Abstract: A pocketed spring assembly comprises a plurality of parallel strings of individually pocketed springs. A dimensionally stabilizing substrate is secured to at least some of the strings on one of the top and bottom surfaces of the strings. A scrim sheet is secured to at least some of the strings on an opposed surface of the strings to maintain the positions of the strings. The dimensionally stabilizing substrate is thicker and more rigid than the scrim sheet.

A first foam rail is introduced into the assembly machine and glued to upper and lower substrate webs. A first string of pocketed springs is then glued to a side surface of the first foam rail between upper and lower substrate webs and glued to the upper and lower substrate webs. Additional strings are joined together to create a pocketed spring interior. A second foam rail is then introduced into the assembly machine and glued to an outer string and to the upper and lower substrate webs to create a core. Third and fourth foam rails are glued to the core.

Abstract: A flexible cellular foam or fabric product is coated with a coating including highly thermally conductive nanomaterials. The highly thermally conductive nanomaterials may be carbon nanomaterials, metallic, or non-metallic solids. The carbon nanomaterials may include, but are not necessarily limited to, carbon nanotubes and graphene nanoplatelets. The highly thermally conductive nanomaterials may include but are not limited to nano-sized solids that may include graphite flakes, for example. When coated on a surface of flexible foam, the presence of nanomaterials may impart greater thermal effusivity, greater thermal conductivity, and/or a combination of these improvements. The flexible foam product may be polyurethane foam, latex foam, polyether polyurethane foam, viscoelastic foam, high resilient foam, polyester polyurethane foam, foamed polyethylene, foamed polypropylene, expanded polystyrene, foamed silicone, melamine foam, among others.

The deck may be inclined by extending one of the primary linear actuators more than the other regardless of the positions of the deck members.

Abstract: An all-linkage mechanism for a seating unit is provided that allows the ottoman to be extended between a closed position and an extended position, with the top face of the ottoman facing upwardly during the entire motion. The mechanism is motorized, and may be stopped in a position intermediate the closed and extended positions, such as a laptop position. The mechanism is compact, allowing use on a high-leg, wood-to-the-floor seating unit.

A second push pin assembly inside the hollow receiver fixes the leg assembly in a lowered position and a raised position for storage or shipment. Each hollow receiver is pivotally secured to a mounting bracket welded to a foldable frame of the adjustable bed base.

Abstract: A control mechanism for a chair comprises a baseplate configured to be coupled to a chair base assembly, a support plate configured to be coupled to a chair seat, and an elastic element arranged between the base plate and the support plate. The elastic element enables the support plate to be tilted with respect to the base plate around a first tilt axis and a second tilt axis different from the first tilt axis. The control mechanism further comprises a control handle configured to be actuated in an actuating direction, and at least one stop element. Each stop element is arranged between the base plate and the support plate and configured to limit a minimum distance between the base plate and the support plate at the position of the corresponding stop element. A stop element adjust mechanism is coupled to the control handle and configured to adjust the minimum distance of each stop element in response to actuating the control handle in the actuating direction.
