  • Patent number: 7699810
Abstract: Method of holding in place a transcutaneous implant by applying an adhesive in liquid form to the implant and the area of the patient's skin about the needle and allowing the adhesive to set. The implant is constituted by an infusion needle, a catheter or any transcutaneous implant. Whenever the adhesive is in liquid form, it has such a surface tension that it will flow along the implant and the skin to reach a terminal point, which is the point at which the implant is inserted. The adhesive is applied in liquid form and flows along the implant and the skin to reach the point at which the implant is inserted, and then allowed to set to hold the implant in place.

  • Patent number: 7183454
Abstract: Occlusive dressing system, which comprises an endless, elongated, flexible, adhesive barrier, adapted to be arranged in a closed configuration, whereby to bound and define a surface area, and an impermeable sealing film adapted to overlie said surface area and to isolate it from the environment, when superimposed to said barrier arranged in said configuration, said barrier forming a gas-tight seal with said sealing film when the two are applied to and pressed against one another. A spreading mechanism that alows a single person to spread the sealing film over the occluding barrier and to detach the film from the main roll and ports (inlet and outlet) that can be placed across the barrier or the occluding film.

  • Publication number: 20030072750
Abstract: Disclosure relates to a unit dose debriding matrix carrier, comprising a housing containing lyophilized or otherwise dried debriding agent, the housing being made of porous material so as to allow passage of the debriding agent therethrough when a liquid is applied thereto, the carrier further having a polygonal shape such that a plurality of identical carriers can be placed around it, to fill a wound area. This application also relates to a placing device for a unit dose debriding matrix carrier, comprising elastic holding means to hold the matrix in place within the device and to release the carrier when a light pressure is applied on the device, and a unit dose powder/vehicle-carrier-gel mixing and placing device comprising unit dose powder and vehicle containers and means for joining said containers and mixing the countenance aspeticly and extracting the mixture onto the wound.

  • Patent number: 6530931
Abstract: Mechanically actuated dermatome comprising a cutting blade, a hollow handle substantially perpendicular to the plane of the cutting blade and a motor housed in the hollow handle with its shaft substantially perpendicular to the plane of the cutting blade. The cutting blade is enclosed in a housing which has a lowermost surface that rides on the skin during treatment, the lower surface being essentially parallel to the plane of the cutting part of the blade and the handle is substantially perpendicular to it and directed upwards when the dermatome rests on the lowermost surface of the blade housing. The lowermost surface that rides on the skin during treatment is smooth, without any protrusion that may interfere with its movement in any direction with respect to the skin.
