Abstract: An image sensor including a plurality of avalanche photodiodes formed inside and on top of a semiconductor substrate of a first conductivity type having a front side and a back side, wherein: trenches vertically extend in the substrate from its front side to its back side, the trenches having, in top view, the shape of a continuous grid laterally delimiting a plurality of substrate islands, each island defining a pixel including a single individually-controllable avalanche photodiode, and including a doped area of collection of an avalanche signal of the pixel photodiode the lateral walls of the trenches are coated with a first semiconductor layer having a conductivity type opposite to that of the collection area, and a conductive region extends in the trenches, the conductive region being in contact with the surface of the first semiconductor layer opposite to the substrate.

Abstract: Disclosed is a SAM forming composition comprising a SAM monomer or precursor having a backbone with a surface reactive group, wherein the backbone contains no Si—C bonds and is selected from the group consisting of a Si—C bond-free polysilane and a trisilylamine. The surface reactive groups are disclosed for the surface to be covered being a dielectric surface and a metal surface, respectively. A process of forming a SAM on a surface and a process of forming a film on the SAM are also disclosed.

Abstract: A system for determining power generated by a nuclear core assembly immersed in heat transfer fluid. Light radiation reflected from the blades of a rotor located in the heat transfer fluid is used to determine the rotation speed of the rotor. The flow rate of the heat transfer fluid is determined based on the rotation speed. A difference in temperature between an inlet and an outlet of the assembly is calculated. Power generated by the assembly is determined based on the flow rate and the temperature difference.

The wireless transceiver is operative to transmit wireless signals on a uniform periodic basis and in a sequential order. The exemplary signals each include data corresponding to pressure sensed by each of the pressure sensors at a time of signal transmission, and a position of the respective signal in the sequential order. Data included in the signals received by the base device is usable to determine conditions in which signals are not received and/or signal data has not been accurately received.

Abstract: A destacker unit for a destacking system is for destacking objects with a flange that are stacked together, such as a stack of trays, containers, cups or other objects. A destacking system includes at least one destacker unit for repeated destacking of one tray at a time in a predetermined direction. Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods for autonomous, semi-autonomous, and assisted manual application of a cosmetic style to a portion of skin of an individual. A printer device includes a printer applicator, a position sensor, and a reservoir for compositions for the cosmetic style. A display of the printer device represents the portion of skin as a plurality of guide segments, and represents the printer applicator as a visual indicator relative to the plurality of guide segments based on the position sensor. The depiction of the visual indicator responds to changes in the position of the printer applicator relative to the portion of the skin to visually guide the individual to accurately apply the cosmetic style, and a feedback device alerts the individual if the application deviates from the portion of the skin. These approaches enable the individual to correct application of the composition in real time.
