Patents Assigned to L. S. van Landingham, Jr.
  • Patent number: 4846788
Abstract: Dyes which, in the presence of molecular oxygen, promote the formation of cytotoxic oxygen are used to combat internal parasites in warm blooded animals. Internal parasites having the dye incorporated therein are exposed to electromagnetic radiation to initiate one or more lethal oxidative reactions. The photosensitized parasites may be in the infective stage thereby breaking the life cycle. This reduces or prevents reinfection and the need for traditional anthelmintics.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: July 11, 1989
Assignee: L. S. van Landingham, Jr.
