  • Patent number: 5767652
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of supplying optimal power for an alternating current electric motor driven by a direct/alternating and alternating/direct/alternating static frequency converter, as well as a device implementing this method. This method of supplying optimal power for an inductive-type load coupled to an application, this load being driven by a static converter controlled by an electronic module, this power supply method constituting the electronic load control device which, at any instant, delivers to the load, by means of setting parameters applied to the controls of the converter, a voltage, by noting the direction of variation around an extreme, corresponding to a minimum power absorbed by the load, from one or more monitoring parameters (MP) which are weighted and/or combined together. The method of supplying optimal power, as well as the device implementing it according to the present invention, apply to all types of load of an inductive nature.

  • Patent number: 5592368
Abstract: The static frequency converter controlled by a control parameter processing and command generation element includes an active filter at the terminals of a dc/dc converter powering a load, wherein the active filter includes an inductance (L1) in series with a diode (D1) grounded through a condenser (C0) and a switch (K5) controlled by the control parameter processing and command generation element and that the dc/dc converter includes at least one complete bridge, one of the arms of which has two condensers (C1,C2) and the other arm has four switches (K1. . . K4). This converter can be used with all load types that can be controlled by frequency converters, and more particularly to a transformer type inductive load or alternating electric motors, with or without commutators, and particularly to single phase and multiphase asynchronous motors.

  • Patent number: 5548199
Abstract: A method of supplying optimal power for an alternating current electric motor driven by a direct/alternating and alternating/direct/alternating static frequency converter including a device for implementing the method. In particular, the method supplies optimal power for an inductive-type load coupled to an application with the load being driven by a static converter controlled by an electronic module. The method involves delivering power to the load by setting parameters which are applied to the controls of the converter and by noting the direction of variation around an extreme, corresponding to a minimum power absorbed by the load on the basis of one or more monitoring parameters which are weighted and/or combined together.

  • Patent number: 5497313
Abstract: A switching method and apparatus for increasing the efficiency of an inductive motor. A switching device connects, according to a PWM process, a D.C. voltage (E) to an inductive motor creating a low-frequency contribution UmLF rising from 0V to the peak voltage at the beginning of each half period T/2. The peak voltage is maintained for at least one sixth of a period T/6 creating a plateau and, then, the switching device connects, according to the PWM process, the D.C. voltage (E) to the inductive motor for the remainder of the half period T/2 creating a low frequency contribution UmLF declining from the peak voltage to 0V. With this arrangement, motor vibration is reduced and efficiency is increased.

  • Patent number: 4777834
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for determining a composite material constitutive of moving parts in a hermetically sealed refrigerating compressor, wherein a composite material, of which the initial mechanical and thermal properties fulfull the conditions corresponding to the mechanical and thermal stresses in compressors, is placed during a first determined test period T1 in an environment containing the chemical products that are present in a compressor, at a test temperature equivalent to the maximal operating temperature of a compressor, and wherein at the end of this period, its chemical and mechanical properties are measured, and compared with the initial mechanical or chemical properties, and it is assessed by calculation what such properties would become once the material would have been used in an environment of a compressor during a second period T2, longer than the first test period T1, and wherein this material is thus utilized for producing parts provided the assessed properties satisfy the re
