Abstract: Aspects relate to automatically establishing neighbor relations for adjacent sectors based on one or more network events. The neighbor relations can be established between sectors that can be identified as inter-frequency neighbors or intra-frequency neighbors. In an aspect, the network events can be active call data events received from one or more mobile devices. The active call data events can be radio access bearer establishments and internal system releases. In another aspect, the network events can be idle call data events received from one or more mobile devices. If a first event ended on a first sector and a second event started on a second sector before expiration of an interval that started when the first event ended, the first sector and second sector can be defined as neighbors.

  • Patent number: 8687773
Abstract: A system and method for interfacing unified message processing systems with legacy voice mail, e-mail and facsimile systems, located behind corporate firewalls. The system includes a unified message server, a proxy interface and a message protocol convertor. The proxy interface is configured to access the legacy system in response to a request from a unified message server. Messages stored on the legacy system are converted by a protocol convertor to a predetermined format compatible with the unified message server. The converted messages are then transferred to a unified message server which is capable of providing messages from different messaging system, such as voice mail, e-mail and facsimile to users in a predetermined format. The invention permits enterprise wide communication systems to provide unified messaging without abandoning pre-existing legacy messaging system.

  • Patent number: 8688132
Abstract: Sensing wireless transmissions from a licensed user of a licensed spectral resource includes obtaining information indicating a number of adjacent sensors that are concurrently sensing wireless transmissions from the licensed user of the licensed spectral resource. Such information can be obtained from a main node controlling the sensor and its adjacent sensors, or by the sensor itself (e.g., by means of short-range communication equipment targeting any such adjacent sensors). A sensing rate is then determined as a function, at least in part, of the information indicating the number of adjacent sensors that are concurrently sensing wireless transmissions from the licensed user of the licensed spectral resource. Receiver equipment is then periodically operated at the determined sensing rate, wherein the receiver equipment is configured to detect wireless transmissions from the licensed user of the licensed spectral resource.

  • Patent number: 8688808
Abstract: Methods and computer-readable media are provided to allow for the establishment of an Internet protocol (IP) data session with a dual-stack mobile communications device by authenticating the device. An IP data session is requested, and a home agent sends an indication of this request. A DNS server that will be assigned to a device is identified by querying a database and is identified based on the device's capabilities. The device capabilities are determined by a device-capability identifier that is associated with the user of the device or the device itself, such as a network access identifier. The capabilities may include the device type, applications, programs, or services that the user of the device is subscribed to, or capabilities that are inherent to the phone. Once the DNS server is identified, a server identifier is sent to the home agent, which assigns the DNS server to the device.

  • Patent number: 8687676
Abstract: An efficient way to store backoff and crestcomp parameters while providing quick access to the backoff and crestcomp parameters associated with specific transmission configurations is described herein. A long-term memory stores amplifier parameters for a plurality of different transmission configurations. A selection element selects from the long-term memory a graph of the amplifier parameters corresponding to a selected subset of the transmission configurations. The selected graph relates each of a plurality of enhanced data channel gain ratios to a corresponding amplifier parameter. The selection element transfers the selected graph from the long-term memory to a fast memory proximate a DSP. Further, the selection element reselects and transfers new graphs into the fast memory as needed.
