Abstract: A MEMS gyroscope includes: a microstructure having a fixed structure, a driving mass, movable with respect to the fixed structure according to a driving axis, and a sensing mass, mechanically coupled to the driving mass so as to be drawn in motion according to the driving axis and movable with respect to the driving mass according to a sensing axis, in response to rotations of the microstructure; and a driving device, for keeping the driving mass in oscillation with a driving frequency. The driving device includes a discrete-time sensing interface, for detecting a position of the driving mass with respect to the driving axis and a control stage for controlling the driving frequency on the basis of the position of the driving mass.

Abstract: Adjacent elementary cells are connected in series by connecting elements, each of which is arranged in an interconnection area. The connecting elements are separated from the respective electrolytic membranes of the two adjacent cells to be connected thereby. In this way, they are never in contact with these electrolytic membranes. For one of the two cells, the connecting element is separated from the electrolytic membrane by an empty space, whereas for the other cell, it is separated from the electrolytic membrane by a thin barrier layer designed to act as buffer area for variations in volume of said membrane when the cell is in operation. The thin barrier layer is formed by a polymer material having a lower water absorption capacity than that of the polymer material constituting the electrolytic membrane of the cell.

Abstract: Method for preparing p-type zinc oxide ZnO or p-type ZnMgO, comprising at least the sequence of the following two steps a) and b): a) depositing silica, optionally doped with at least one doping element from column V of the periodic table of the elements, on a surface of an n-type ZnO or n-type ZnMgO substrate; b) annealing the substrate and the deposited silica at a sufficient temperature and for a sufficient time to induce exodiffusion of zinc from the ZnO or ZnMgO substrate to the silica, and the formation of zinc vacancies in at least one portion of the substrate adjacent to the silica; and a step for doping said portion of the substrate adjacent to the silica and comprising the zinc vacancies with at least one doping element from column V of the periodic table of the elements during step b) or at the conclusion of step b).

Abstract: An entity in a telecommunications network, for example a user equipment, determines a threshold value relating to a channel switching parameter that is being used by the telecommunications network to trigger a channel switching operation, and uses this threshold value and monitored traffic information to prevent a channel change from occurring, i.e. to maintain channel occupancy. A network node is adapted to remove additional traffic that has been generated by an entity in the telecommunications network to maintain channel occupancy.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to interrelated methods in a server and in a client enabling policy controlled preload and consumption of software application in a client. The method in a server comprises receiving information pertaining to an identified user; providing the identified user's current user and/or software application usage policies to a client associated with the identified user; deriving an software application preferences context pertaining to the user; based on the derived software application preferences context recommending an unsolicited software application from a set of available software applications; and preparing for transmission a set of software application comprising the recommended unsolicited software application; and transmitting to the client the prepared set of software applications. The method further relates to a server, a client, a computer program on a carrier and a computer program product.

Abstract: A power supply system includes a first connector, a second connector, a first circuit for detecting a magnitude of a current drawn from an energy source by the power supply system and providing a related output related, and a second circuit for adjusting an output voltage supplied to the second connector based on output of the first circuit. The output voltage supplied to the second connector is at a first value when the output of the first circuit is below a first threshold. Further, the output voltage supplied to the second connector is at a second value, greater than said first value, when the output of the first circuit is above a second threshold. The output voltage supplied to the second connector is at a third value, between said first and second values, when the output of the first circuit is between the first and second thresholds.

Abstract: PDs that can be supplied through the LAN line are discriminated from PDs that cannot be so supplied as a function of the resistance of the supply line and of the voltage drop caused by nonlinear elements in series therewith. The values of these two parameters are estimated by applying two distinct voltages to the supply terminals of the LAN line and sensing the relative steady-state currents absorbed by the power supply line, and by processing voltage and current values for estimating the resistance of the line and the voltage drop caused by nonlinear elements connected in series therewith.

Abstract: A method (40) of antenna array dynamic configuration for 3-Dimension beamforming in wireless network is provided, comprising: determining (41) dynamically a mapping pattern for transforming a physical antenna array into a virtual antenna array based on time-varying downlink or uplink baseband channel statistics, from a set of candidate mapping patterns; and configuring (42) the physical antenna array as different virtual antenna arrays according to the dynamically determined mapping pattern. The corresponding apparatus, antenna array and wireless base station system are also provided. These are used to improve radio transmission bandwidth communication efficiency.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an emergency door locking device for household appliances, in particular for tumble dryers, More specifically, the device according to the present invention allows the door of a household appliance to be locked, thus preventing the opening thereof by the user, when a predetermined temperature, deemed anomalous and/or dangerous, is reached inside the compartment of the household appliance. The emergency device according to the present invention therefore constitutes a mechanical safety, which is therefore also able to operate when the anomalous event that caused the increase in temperature compromises the correct operation of the control electronics of the household appliance.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes treatment of the vasculature of a patient with an expandable implant. The implant is constrained to a reduced delivery diameter for delivery within the vasculature by at least one sleeve. The implant can be constrained to other diameters, such as an intermediate diameter. The sleeves can be expanded, allowing for expansion of the diameter of the expandable implant, by disengaging a coupling member from the sleeve or sleeves from outside of the body of the patient. The expandable implant can comprise a steering line or lines which facilitate bending and steering of the expandable implant through the vasculature of a patient.

The server includes a management unit for managing context information of a communication device, which includes data relating to service provided by a network operator; an obtaining unit for obtaining device information of the communication device, which includes data needed to obtain subscription information from a network operator; a selecting unit for selecting, using the context information, a network operator that provides the best service to the communication device out of network operators that are able to provide network connectivity to the communication device; and a request unit for sending a request, with the obtained device information to the selected network operator, for subscription information which is to be used for the communication device to connect to the selected network operator as a home network operator.

Abstract: An imaging apparatus may include an interrogating apparatus, such as a scanner, configured to transmit toward and receive from a test subject in a target position, electromagnetic radiation in a frequency range of about 100 MHz to about 2 THz. The interrogating apparatus or scanner may produce an image signal representative of the received radiation. A controller may store in memory reference-image data for at least one reference subject. The controller may produce test-image data from the image signal and may compare at least a portion of the test-image data with at least a portion of the reference-image data for the at least one reference subject.

Abstract: A purge and prime assembly for a carburetor includes a purge and prime pump that alternately takes in and discharges fluid, and a plurality of passages through which fluid is routed. The passages may include a purge passage through which fluid is drawn by the purge and prime pump, a return passage through which fluid is discharged from the purge and prime pump and discharged from the carburetor, and a priming passage through which a portion of the fluid discharged from the purge and prime pump is routed to a main bore of the carburetor. The assembly may also include a purge valve that prevents fluid from being discharged from the purge prime pump through the purge passage, and a return valve that prevents fluid in the return passage from being drawn into the purge and prime pump.

Abstract: A protection device includes a flexible laminar body resistant to impacts, arranged separately from the body to be protected and put in the way of the beam of possible trajectories with which a foreign object could impact on the object to be protected, and it includes a plurality of energy absorption elements, provided with device clamping elements over a support structure positioned outside of the beam of possible trajectories, in order for the flexible laminar body to intercept an impact trajectory by the foreign object, resulting in its deformation and the subsequent progressive extension of the energy absorption elements reducing the loads to be supported by the support structure. The protection device is applied to prevent birds or other objects from impacting on sensitive areas of aircraft. The protection device is of a textile nature of reduced weight.

Abstract: Methods for efficiently retrieving information from an image of a symbol are described. Symbols are described that contain detection patterns that facilitate the determination of location, alignment, size and orientation of the symbol in an image. Detection patterns are described that possess geometric shapes susceptible to efficient decoding using probabilistic detection algorithms. Detection patterns are described that are provided in colors, shapes and sizes different from the color, shape and sizes of modules carrying information in the symbol. Methods are described for identifying the location and size of detection patterns in images of the symbol and for locating modules in the symbol to facilitate extraction of information carried by the modules.

Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the specific isotopic labeling of Valine, Leucine and Isoleucine amino acids. The process of the invention uses a 2-alkyl-2-hydroxy-3-oxobutanoic acid in which the alkyl substituent in position 2 is ethyl or methyl. The invention can be used for the analysis of proteins, in particular by NMR.

Abstract: A data communication emulating unit (18) in a user terminal (10) or a proxy device monitors communication between an application unit (16) in the user terminal and a proxy unit of the proxy device, which communication employs requests (REQ) and responses (RES) based on a data communication protocol. The data communication emulating unit then determines a communication pattern of the monitored communication, evaluates if the communication is efficient or not based on the communication pattern and changes communication strategy if the communication pattern is found to be inefficient. Change in strategy is performed through disrupting communication between the application unit and the proxy unit using the data communication protocol and instead ensuring that communication between the proxy unit and application unit is performed based on a signalling protocol via a signalling communication unit (20).

Abstract: A tenant database is used to add tenant ID information to the cloud network manager (CNM) address mapping table to isolate tenant specific data to a tenant ID to the CNM. The CNM maintains a mapping among a plurality of items in a plurality of databases or tables. The plurality of databases or tables include a tenant database (DB), a tenant identifier to tenant label (TITL) table, a top of rack server label to virtual switch link label (TLVLL) table, a label mapping table (SMVL), and a CNM address mapping table. The CNM uses the plurality of databases to generate tenant specific labels that are added to packets sent between tenant virtual machines (VMs).
