Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the preparation of extracts from marine ooze. To extract a larger proportion of the cosmetically and balneologically active ingredients from the ooze, the process proposes paraffinum subliquidum, ethanol, dimethicone a water/ethanol mixture and a mixture of water/ethanol/glycerin/propylene glycol. The mixture is extracted while stirring it either for 24 to 30 hours at room temperature or 1 to 3 hours at 50° to 70° C. and is filtered. The filtrate has a proportion of active ingredients from the marine ooze.
