Abstract: A handling device for boxes and the similar repeatedly presents the top box of a first box pile (11) at a predetermined height and making it possible to remove the top box in such a way that the removed boxes of the first pile (11) gradually form a second pile (12) includes a first vertically movable support (9) for receiving the first pile (11), a second vertically movable support (10) for receiving the second pile (12), a device for synchronously controlling the supports (9, 10) by way of at least one of them when one goes up and the other goes down and vice-versa. The handling device is arranged in such a way that the top box of the first pile (11) is transferable directly to the second pile (12) by lateral displacement at a more or less permanent level.
