  • Patent number: 5566672
Abstract: A tab electrode includes a flexible insulative layer having a first and second opposite side terminating in a peripheral edge and having a tab defined therein inboard of the peripheral edge. A conductive member, having a first end and a second end is adhered to the first side of the insulative layer with the second end underlying the tab. A conductive gel is attached to the first end of the conductive member on a side opposite that of the flexible insulative layer. A lower insulative layer is adhered to the first side of the flexible insulative layer exposing the conductive gel and underlying the second end of the conductive member. The electrode construction is such that the second end of the conductive member extends above and away from the body of the electrode when the electrode is flexed or adhered to a curved surface such as the chest cavity of the patient. In this manner, the electrode lead can be easily and quickly fastened to the tab.

  • Patent number: 4926878
Abstract: The specification discloses a medical electrode particularly well suited for use as a tens electrode wherein a conductive stud is coupled to a nonconductive eyelet, the post of which projects through an aperture in a highly conductive dispersive layer, in such a way that the stud base makes direct electrical contact with the dispersive layer. A layer of adhesive coated facestock is adhered to the upper surface of the conductive dispersive layer. The facestock includes an enlarged aperture providing clearance for the stud base. A gel layer is adhered to and overlies the undersurface of the conductive layer.

  • Patent number: 4664106
Abstract: The specification discloses a wound dressing or like applique including an adhesively coated upper layer backed by a release liner wherein the upper layer is perforated and the release liner is cut, there also being a slit extending through both the release liner and the upper layer from the peripheral edge of the article to the perforation and cut lines in the respective upper layer and release liner. This facilitates removal of the offal portion from that portion of the upper layer which is to be adhered to a wound or other surface.
