  • Patent number: 6547066
Abstract: Portable compact disk storage systems that are designed to hold one or more circular compacts disks. The storage systems may be made as a single molded plastic embodiment or a two-part molded plastic embodiment. An exemplary compact disk storage system comprises a lower housing having a plurality of slots formed along one side thereof that are sized to receive individual compact disks therein, and a frictional pad disposed on the plurality of slots. The frictional pad provides a frictional surface that assists removal of the compact disks from the storage system. An upper housing is coupled to the lower housing by way of a living hinge. A locking mechanism is provided for locking the lower and upper housings together when the storage system is closed.

  • Patent number: 6543508
Abstract: A compact disk labeling, cleaning and repairing system for use in applying an adhesive label to a surface of a compact disk, and for cleaning and repairing a readable surface of a compact disk. In an exemplary system, a top portion is used for labeling the compact disk and has a side wall with a shape that matches the shape of the compact disk and a flat shelf that forms an upper cavity. A plurality of tabs are formed around the periphery of the side wall that hold the compact disk above the label prior to attachment and which register the compact disk. The flat shelf has a plurality of slots therein that form a plurality of tabs, and a plurality of vertical projections extend away from the tabs to form a hub. The hub is sized to allow a central hole in the adhesive label to register thereto. The slots allow the tabs or hub to flex during application of the label. A bottom portion of the system may be used to clean and repair the compact disk.

  • Patent number: 6450229
Abstract: Compact disk labeling systems for use in applying a compact disk label to a compact disk. One embodiment includes a compact disk case with a base and a rotatable lid that rotates about a hinge. A central spindle protrudes from a surface of the base that holds the compact disk by means of its central hole. A label hub protrudes from a surface of the lid. A flexible foam disk may be attached to an interior surface of the lid that is disposed around the label hub. Another embodiment includes a base having a generally flat upper surface. A central spindle protrudes slightly above the upper surface of the base that holds the compact disk by means of its central hole. A rotatable lid is attached to the base by means of a hinge and has a generally flat surface 23 with an inner tab section and an outer section that flex relative to each other. A cylindrically-shaped compact disk label hub protrudes from the inner tab section to hold the adhesive label.

  • Patent number: 6435243
Abstract: Compact disk labeling systems for use in applying an adhesive label to a CD card compact disk. The system includes a base with a generally flat upper surface and a compact disk hub that protrudes above the upper surface of the base for holding the CD card compact disk by means of its central hole. A rotatable lid is attached to the base and has a generally flat surface with an tab section and a flexible section that is flexible relative to the tab section. A compact disk label hub protrudes from the tab section that is used to hold the adhesive label. A compact disk registering member is provided on the base that is used to register and align the CD card compact disk. A compact disk label registering member may be provided on the lid that may be used to register labels having different widths. Removal of the compact disk registering member permits labeling of mini round compact disks.

  • Patent number: 6347654
Abstract: A compact disk labeling system for use in applying an adhesive label to a surface of a compact disk. The system comprises a side wall with a shape that substantially matches the exterior shape of the compact disk and which registers the compact disk. A flat shelf is formed a predetermined distance below an upper edge of the side wall that forms an upper cavity. The shelf has a central opening with a plurality of slots extending outward therefrom toward the side wall. A hub is formed on the shelf that comprises a plurality of tabs that extend away from a top surface of the shelf. The hub is sized to allow a central hole in the adhesive label to register thereto. The central opening and slots in the shelf allow the hub to flex.
