Abstract: An aqueous ionic solution based on dissolved mineral salts, in particular intended for throat care, especially for the treatment, prevention and relief of manifestations related to sore throats. The aqueous ionic solution includes: by way of aqueous solvent, at least 20% by weight, with respect to the total weight of the composition, of a hypertonic solution of mineral salts having an osmolality greater than 350 mOsm/kg; at least 50% of one or more polyols of plant origin, by weight with respect to the total weight of the ionic solution; at least one sucrose and C8-C24 fatty acid ester, by weight with respect to the total weight of the ionic solution; and a non-alcoholic extract of propolis and/or between 1% and 8% honey, by weight with respect to the total weight of the ionic solution.

Abstract: The invention relates to an aqueous ionic solution, particularly for nasal use, including: at least one seawater solution having an osmolality of between 290 mOsm/kg and 400 mOsm/kg in a weight proportion of between about 30 and 98 wt % relative to the total weight of the composition; at least one cationic phospholipid of natural origin in a weight proportion of between about 0.01 and 5 wt % relative to the total weight of the composition; and at least one compound, which is originally immiscible with said seawater solution, in a weight proportion of between 0.01 and 10 wt % relative to the total weight of the composition.
Abstract: A method of using a seawater-based isoosmotic ionic solution for manufacturing a medical device for administering said solution by nasal spray or mist to patients in the remission phase of the common cold or flu syndrome, or to patients suffering from the common cold or flu syndrome, to prevent and/or treat complications of the common cold or flu syndrome is described.
Abstract: The invention concerns the use of a sulphated or phosphated polysaccharide for preparing a drug for treating herpes virus mediated diseases, more particularly mediated by alpha-herpes viruses, and in particular by HSV-1 and HSV-2, as well as by strains of those viruses which are resistant to known antiviral agents. The polysaccharide is preferably sulphated laminarin PS3.
