Abstract: Paste for protecting the skin, fundamentally comprising:at least one hydrocolloid, insolubilized carboxymethylcellulose and/or another superabsorbent product derived from hydrocolloids, and a polyvinylpyrrolidone having a molecular weight of the order of 25,000 to 30,000, as thickeners, demineralized water as a binder, andto fix the latter, a suitable oil and a suitable stearate, and alsocrosslinked and insolubilized polyvinylpyrrolidone, and advantageouslysorbitol and/or polyethylene glycol.Application, in particular, for providing protection against weeping wounds and/or against matter flowing out of stomata from the urinary or digestive tract.
Abstract: A device for puncturing the umbilical cord of a foetus in utero. The device consists of two fixed tubes, a trocar, a stem with a resilient hook at one end, and a hollow needle. The trocar and the stem are adapted to slide in one of the tubes, and the hollow needle is adapted to slide in the other tube.
Abstract: A device reducing noise resulting from the emission of intestinal gas by persons who have undergone enterostomy.Basically, it comprises an oblong body made of an open-cell porous material and/or optionally provided with an absorbent material, such as activated charcoal, and sheathed in a casing made of a material that does ot adhere to the stoma walls, and the upstream and downstream portions of which each comprises at least one opening suited to allow passage of the intestinal gases emitted, and which can be connected to a collecting bag, or secured to the stoma of persons practising irrigation.Application to improving the comfort and the social rehabilitation of persons who have undergone enterostomy.
Abstract: A device useful for the analysis and measurement of the constituents of solid or liquid media consists of a hermetically closed container containing chemical or biological reactants necessary for the analysis, in liquid, lyophilized or solid form. The container constitutes a hollow space formed in a perforatable material inert with respect to the participants in the reaction. It includes a non-removable rigid cover which is advantageously optically flat at least on its inner surface and optically transparent over at least its central portion. The device and method are applicable to any measurements and analyses, whether manual or automatic, of the constituents of liquid or solid media, notably test samples of biological media.
