Abstract: The present invention relates to the estimation of the vertical in humans using an experimental design that incorporates virtual reality. Methods of measuring the perceived vertical in a subject using steady state and transient experiments are disclosed. The inventive methods are useful for diagnosis, as well as for follow up after patient rehabilitation.
