Abstract: The present invention relates to dosage units of oral films for the administration of active pharmaceutical ingredients (API), such as analgesics, relaxants, anxiolytics, sedatives, hypnotics, narcotics, anesthetics and/or other API with peripheral and/or central nervous effects, in particular for use in the treatment of pain, metabolic disorders and diseases of the central nervous system (CNS). More particular the invention relates to dosage units of oral films comprising relaxants, anxiolytics, sedatives, hypnotics, narcotics, anesthetics and/or analgesics prone to misuse and abuse, such as overdosing. More particular, the invention relates to dosage units of oral films comprising propofol. In a further aspect, the invention relates to dosage units of oral films comprising propofol for use in the treatment of a subject suffering from migraine.
