Abstract: A luminaire for use with high intensity discharge lamps so that such lamps can be used in rooms of average height even as low as 8 or 9 feet. The luminaire includes a suspended bowl-shaped reflector that opens towards the ceiling and prevents glare and direct viewing of the light source.
