Abstract: A shoring assembly for utility vaults. A crossbeam member is carried by a column member and a bracket is connected between the crossbeam member and the column member. The bracket supports the crossbeam member on the column member and comprises a jack member that is extendable upward to engage and move the crossbeam member upward relative to the column member into a support position against a vault roof to be shored.

Abstract: A utility pole is reinforced by assembling and installing a reinforcement channel assembly comprising a lower reinforcement channel driven into the ground alongside the pole, an inner splice plate supported on and against an inner surface of the lower reinforcement channel, an upper reinforcement channel supported on and against an outer surface of the inner splice plate, and an outer splice plate supported on and against respective outer surfaces of upper and lower portions of the upper and lower reinforcement channels. An outer splice plate is secured to the inner splice plate, sandwiching between them the respective upper and lower portions of the lower and upper reinforcement channels, and the upper reinforcement channel is secured to the pole.

Abstract: A method of raising the transmission cables carried by a utility pole having a base end with a ground foundation supporting the pole in upright position, without disturbing the pole foundation or disconnecting the cables, includes the steps of anchoring opposed, circumferentially spaced elongate pole support members to extend upwardly along the pole and severing the pole to define a first pole supported by the pole foundation and a second pole supported by the first pole; fixing the support members to the first pole and slidably banding them to the second pole; raising the second pole above the first pole to a level remaining below the upper ends of the support members; and fixing the lower end of the second pole within and to the upper ends of the support members at a spaced distance above the first pole.
