Abstract: This invention relates to a tape applicator or tape head formed from a combination of two separated apparatuses namely a detachable unit containing a front portion of the tape applicator and a stationary unit containing a rear portion of the applicator with snap-on engagement there between to obtain the interactive motion of a conventional tape applicator i.e. the present invention separates a conventional tape applicator into two separate portions which results in the ability to quickly change tapes and reduces safety hazards.

Abstract: A commercial tape applicator capable of folding at least one side edge of a tape as it is fed to the applicator to provide an easily a gripped edge on the tape after it has been applied to the case. The invention provides a folding station on a dancer platform mounted on a dancer arm that has a nip roll at its free end and the arm is biased so that the nip roll is in contact with the periphery of a tape roll forming the source of tape and is usable to align the tape path through the folding station with the tape leaving the tape roll and accommodate deformation of the roll. A latch and cooperating cog wheel may be used to control the off feeding of the tape for the supply roll.

Abstract: A multifunction tape applicator for applying a section or sections of pressure sensitive adhesive tape to a carton selectively in different carton sealing configurations, namely C-clip; single L-clip, front and back L-clips and sectional skip-gap taping. The multifunction tape applicator comprises a basic tape applicator unit to apply a common C-clip tape from a tape roll with built-in design apparatus for tape applying, tape cutting, tape tension control to facilitate other functions and a mechanical or powered actuation attachment unit which is to be installed onto the modified basic tape applicator unit to actuate other functions based on the requirement of the application.
