  • Patent number: 12273780
Abstract: Techniques described herein relate to intelligent migration between personal area networks (PANs) of a wireless mesh network. In one example, a method includes receiving, by a node connected to a first PAN, a packet from a second PAN. Based on the packet, the node determines that a second instability factor related to stability of the second PAN differs by at least a margin from a first instability factor related to stability of the first PAN. The node transmits, to a neighboring node in the first PAN, a migration notification message indicating that the node is migrating and receives, from the neighboring node in the first PAN, a request for the node to remain in the first PAN. The node applies one or more rules to reject the request for the node to remain in the first PAN and, based on rejecting the request, proceeds to complete the migration.

  • Patent number: 12212135
Abstract: Temporary outages or degradation of a resource, such as electric power, may be detected by identifying anomalies in waveform data collected by collection points. The collection points may be distributed throughout a resource distribution system and configured to communicate data to a headend system. The headend system processes the data to identify anomalies and to correlate waveform data collected by different collection points. The geographic locations of the collection points with correlated data are used to identify a geographic region. An unmanned aerial vehicle may be used to conduct an inspection of the geographic region and to collect inspection data. The inspection data may be communicated to the headend system. The waveform data and the inspection data may be used to determine the correct resources to deploy to address the cause of the anomaly.

  • Patent number: 12182251
Abstract: In one implementation, a system includes a web application and a desktop application, where the web application acts as an intermediary between the desktop application and an identity server. The desktop application loads a browser control to navigate an internal browser of the desktop application to the web application, and the web application redirects the internal browser to the identity server. The desktop application submits, via the internal browser, user credentials to authenticate a user of the desktop application to the identity server. The desktop application receives, at the internal browser, a cookie including an access token for the user of the desktop application. The desktop application transmits, to a web application programming interface (API) associated with the web application, an authentication request including the access token. The desktop application grants access to a resource of the desktop application based on an indication of authentication received from the web API.

  • Patent number: 12088098
Abstract: A system for detecting power status changes, such as power outages or power restorations, at a multi-meter node associated with a power distribution network is provided. For example, a multi-meter node associated with a power distribution network can be configured to detect the power status change event occurred at the node, such as a power outage event or a power restoration event. Based on the type of the event, the communication module of the multi-meter node identifies meters contained in the multi-meter node that are impacted by the event, such as meters that become unpowered due to a power outage event or meters that become powered due to a power restoration event. The communication module generates a consolidated power status change message for the impacted meters and transmits the message to a headend system over a mesh network.

  • Patent number: 11916379
Abstract: This disclosure involves verifying that a power network model corresponds to an electric power network providing electrical power in a geographical area. For instance, a validation device computes a validation score for a power network model based on a connectivity score, an asset score, and a power-flow score. The connectivity score indicates connectivity errors in the power network model as compared to the power network. The asset score indicates power-delivery errors in the power network model with respect to power-consuming assets serviced by the power network. The power-flow score indicates power-flow calculation errors in the power network model with respect to voltage ranges for the power network. The validation score is repeatedly computed for iteratively updated versions of the power network model until a threshold validation score is obtained. The validated power network model is provided to a control system for identifying and correcting errors in the power network.

  • Patent number: 11917569
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for adjusting clock frequencies of endpoint devices in a mesh network for narrowband and ultra-narrowband communications. An endpoint device receives a reference timing signal over a wireless network from a reference device in the network. The endpoint device determines the current value of the clock frequency of the endpoint device and further determines the frequency difference between the reference frequency of the reference timing signal and the current value of the clock frequency. Based on the frequency difference, the endpoint generates a control signal and applies the control signal to the crystal oscillator of the endpoint device to adjust the frequency of the crystal oscillator. The endpoint device communicates with another device in the network using the oscillating signal generated by the adjusted crystal oscillator.

  • Patent number: 11915330
Abstract: A system for generating and applying a secure token in a resource distribution network is provided. For example, a headend system generates a time-based token based on a time duration specified for a meter. The time-based token indicates the time duration for the meter. The time-based token is further generated based on an identifier of the meter. The headend system transmits the time-based token to the meter via at least a mesh network. After receiving the time-based token, the meter validates the time-based token to determine that the time-based token is generated for the meter based on information related to the identifier of the meter. If the meter determines that the time-based token is valid, the meter connects premises associated with the meter to a resource distribution network for at least the time duration specified in the time-based token.

  • Patent number: 11916683
Abstract: A node includes a processor coupled to a wireless transceiver and a memory. The memory includes instructions that can cause the processor to store a broadcast channel hopping timing interval and a broadcast channel hopping sequence, as well as, channel hopping timings and channel hopping sequences for tracked neighbor nodes. The instructions can also cause the processor to determine whether a destination node for a unicast message corresponds to tracked neighbor nodes. Based on a determination that the destination node does not correspond to any tracked neighbor nodes, the processor can determine (i) a broadcast dwell interval based on the broadcast channel hopping timing interval and (ii) a next broadcast channel based on the broadcast channel hopping sequence. Additionally, instructions can cause the processor to transmit the unicast message to the destination node during the broadcast dwell interval.
