    Abstract: A shield apparatus and method for using the apparatus are disclosed. The shield apparatus that includes first and second supports, a screen, and a retraction mechanism associated with the first support. The screen has opposing vertical edges attached to the supports. The retraction mechanism has a construction that allows the second support to be pulled toward the first support, e.g., by way of the screen. During use, the supports are positioned in a substantially vertical position at different locations.
